. its really bad experience i encounter, why?.when im to go school im the jeepney of about 7 in the morning. i did not expect that a man smoking that morning. the smoke affect my health condition because im the type of the person who have asthma. i approach him to stop it so that it will not continue doing. He reacted at me, and he said: i don't think so if your in the right to stop me from what i am doing. its my habit you don't have to force me and even approach me in that way. just wait until its over. i would not rather thrown it because of you..I felt sad and angry with him. what a kind of answer ive receive. his not an educated person i think because he don't know how tolerate other people or even talk with them. how about you?

i will just cover my nose with a handkerchief and will just to breath through my mouth. i don't like the smell of the smoke going through my nose. it is bad for my health. i think that no one should smoke inside the public transportation. though here in our country is not that against the law. common decency would dictate to be more considerate of the people around you.

You have a point there, a smoker must consider the place where to smoke because many people do not want to inhale secondhand smoke. Well, I can only hold my breath for at least 30 seconds and after that, I cover my nose and mouth with a handkerchief.

i actually irritated to deal with this kind of passenger in a public jeepney though there is an city ordinance that smoking inside of the public vehicle is not allowed everywhere.i cover my nose sometimes showing that i am annoying to him because of that smoke come from his mouth.

I think smoking inside the jeepney isn't allowed.. the jeepney driver should have stopped him in the first place.. if i were in your place, i would just cover my nose with tissue or handkerchief and let him feel that what he's doing is entirely wrong.. second hand smoke is indeed bad for health.. non-smokers are more affected by smoker himself... i just don't get why people would do that in public most especially in public utility vehicles... yay!

Hello, mymaria! Well, if I ride a jeepney with a smoker in front of me, I just poke my head out of the window to avoid inhaling the smoke because seconhand smoke brings twice danger to others than the smoker itself. But now, I can ride a jeepney without doing that because most of the jeepneys do not allow smoking inside because there is a sign "no smoking". If you encounter that again, you can report it to the driver because you can't approach a smoker to stop doing it. This is my response to your discussion, happy mylotting and have a nice day!

He's really mean... I assert myself as well, I'll tell him what I want, if it doesn't work, i'll just leave. This is also one of the reasons why I choose to ride in an FX rather than jeepneys, you can't expect everyone to understand you specially if they are stupid. I had one experience in an FX, im sitting next to a girl with asthma and I know how it looks like when it attacks, so I asked the driver to let us open the windows, he refused coz he said the airconditioner is working(we thought so) but its really hot inside and since the girl can hardly speak for herself I took action and told him its crucial to have someone with asthma to tolerate this much heat, if you don't wish to send her to the hospital or the nearest clinic atleast let us open the windows... it shut him up... it takes strong will; be forceful in what you want, you don't need to end up arguing to people but if you sense that he won't listen just leave coz your reasons will never work, he'll never listen, but at least you stood up for what you want than suffer in silence.
