I'm pretty stressed at the moment, I have lots of deadlines and an exam coming up int he next few weeks at university. On top of that I was in a gang attack on Friday night where two friends got badly beaten up and my grandad is in hospital with a heart attack. It is a very stressful time for me! To help myself relax at the moment I am listening to a lot of classical music as I find it very claming and beautiful I find that music without words or that is in a language I can't understand helps me to think of other things and to not get worried about all the work I have coming up. My favourite pieces to listen to at the moment are Summer by Vivaldi and the Flower Duet from Lakme. What type of music do you like to listen to, to help yourself relax?

I think if I really want to relax maybe I listen to cheesy songs and also calming songs like ones from Norah Jones, Vanessa Charlton, Sara Braseillies. Cheesy love songs from boy bands like BSB,Westlife also make me relax but I usually dont listen music to feel relaxed. usually I listen to rock songs to make me feel energetic and charged up for the day.

My housemate finds Norah Jones very calming and she listens to her a lot. I however have never really listened to her. Maybe I should give it a try!

But you must know that it is sometimes too relaxing that you may fall asleep. That's why norah got the nickname 'Snorah'. LOL

Hello, beki710! Well, when I'm stressed out, I listen to music. The kind of music I prefer to listen are rock and heavy metal. I like it very much because it removes boredom. My favorite classical rock was "cannon" by JerryC. My favorite metal bands are Bullet for my Valentine, alesana and Valley of Chrome. This is my response, happy mylotting and have a nice day!

I enjoy rock music as well. I have seen Bullet for my Valentine in concert. However I find that I need something calmer than rock when I like to relax. Thanks for sharing!

I really like the jazz music, especially when relax. Jazz music can make me feel comfortable. The dynamic rhytm and sometimes soft, can provide inspiration. I usually listen to the composition of Lee Ritenour, Earth Wind and Fire and Al Jarreau.

I've never listened to Jazz music really. I may see if I can find some of the artist's tracks online and have a listen!

It really depensd on what mood I'm in. I'm in love with The Beatles. They're extremely calming. I'm not sure if you've heard of Avant-Garde style music. Check out these two bands: The Sound of Animals Fighting and Portugal. The Man. They're calming also. Now, you said music without words, I'm a big fan of that also. It's called Ambient, the genre. This band is pretty difficult to find, but if you can, you'll know you found them. The band is called Gas. It's a really good Ambient band. If you wanna check out The Sound of Animals Fighting or Portugal. The Man, they're on my myspace at www.myspace.com/somewhitedude9 lol.
