Do You have a PIN?....

Or do You Have a PIN Number?! Have you a credit card or other financial institution card with one of those little gold or silver coloured ID chips at one end? Some places I go to when making a transaction the cashier will ask you to enter your "PIN Number.." As PIN stands for Personal Identification Number, you don't need to effectively repeat yourself! Have you heard this,or do this yourself? Would you correct someone saying it,ignore it,or count to 10 as you finish the transaction and walk away..? Thanks for responses!

i thought it is only in english as a second language country that that sort of mistake happens. i remember now my elementary school teacher who said not to ask what's the moral lesson of a story because they are almost the same. one or the other word would do.

as an old cashier myself I would give you time to put the number in before asking if you look like you know what you are doing
