So, is cat similar to dog, the maximum lifetime for dog is around 14 to 16 years. What about cats? Are they only live around 14 years of age too?

I just had to have my cat put down on the weekend and he lived to be 23 1/2 yrs old. Probably could have gone forever though. He only had a bit of arthritis in his back end and he had a mouth full of teeth still, unfortunatly he had a stroke on the Friday and wasn't looking too good. He was a wonderful cat and I will miss him dearly. I had him since he was 6 months old.

It all depends on the cat. Cats that live indoors are expected to live about 3 or 4 years longer than outdoor cats. My boyfriend's last cat was an indoor cat, and lived to age 17. One of my cats is about 15 right now, and is doing well.

yeah its true that cats have same lifetime just like that of cats. But the is alot of difference with both pets. Different species of dogs have different life span and they are varied even from continent to continent. But cats almost all species have the same lifespan of about 14 to 16 years. They may live still one or two more years depending on their energy levels and the health condition.

In a hotel some years ago I found a cat that was 26 years old,the qwner was the master of the hotel. That was a cat as me I have never seen, really great, the owner said that he was a race thet he could live up to the 30 years However I believe in general that the cats as also some dogs can arrive to also be 20 years old ,surely this if they have a peapol that he take care of this cat.

I had owned a cat twice. And from experiences I can say that a cat lives for 8-9 years. My first cat, Rain, lived for 7 years. Second on was a very passive man, Mortimer, he lived for 9 years. If you take an average, you get 8 years as the answer. Anyway all cats are different and have different life span.
