i went to a party last night and we were served individually with packs of foods. since we're three in the family so we had 3 big packs. only two were consumed and there some lefty overs too. i brought them at home and forgot to put it in the fridge. i smelled it two hours after yet it still smelled okay. so i had my cousins eat the rest. is it really okay to eat though it smelled okay?

I don't think two hours is much time for the food to get infested by germs. In fact,it can be eaten if it is okay,I mean,if it smelled okay. But be sure that those foods are covered or kept in a closed container.

I think the only thing with leftovers you would have to worry about is leaving them out for days at a time and then having someone eat it. Two hours is nothing to worry about, and even some things can go overnight. To be safe, put things in a closed container in the fridge the next time you don't finish it, then serve it later. Just don't let it sit for days!

well I don't think two hours is much to worry about, when I was working sometimes we would all bring a plate of food and put it all out on tables for everyone to share and they would be there all day and into the night as the it was opened from 7am to 11pm...none of us got sick over the years...
