How do you say 'hi'?

There are many ways. Do you just give a nod and smile. Or do you just smile? DO you go ahead and give a good handshake? Or do you just raise your hand and give some brief salutation? Or do you raise your hand and wiggle your fingers? Go ahead share...

I nod when i'm not close with that person. I say "hey" with my friends and when we haven't met for sometime, we embrace tight because of missing out each other. There are lots of ways anyway.

I say Hi with a kiss on thw cheeks well this is also very common in Britain and we shake hands too when we say Hello, Sometimes when I am late in a meeting then I simply nod to say Hi. I have even learn how to say Hi in different language which sometimes help me when There are people outside Britain.

That's really good. I really appreciate your methods. It's very common in Britain to kiss on cheek. But don't you say hi by raising your hands and wiggling your fingers? I thought that was the most common method to say hi.

It depends on whom I will be greeting hi. Usually I say to my friends and work colleagues with a smile and waving of a hand. If its one of my family and relatives, I say hi with a kiss on their cheeks. If its an acquaintance through an introduction of a friend, I say hi with a hand shake.

My family and friends say HI with a kiss on the cheek =) Very common in the spanish families.

I really don't know much about Spanish culture. I always heard that French people have a big thing for kissing. Anyway I really express my pleasure on you responding here. I should ask you a question again. Do you say hi to all your friends with a kiss?

Yes I do say hi to all my close friends. If I really don't know someone all that great then I will probably give them a hug. Thats just the way I was raised =)
