My youngest son loved foods. He is a gourmet of the family. If it tastes good to him - you'll end up having an empty plate. But one of our dilemna is that he also love those in the fast food; especially burgers and fries. Im a health conscious person, and i want my family to have healthy food, the reason why i cook. But at times we could not avoid going to the fast food especially when im so busy with my work - and there's no time to cook or plan some meals. So, the best remedy is to go to the fast food...honestly speaking, deep inside im struggling - what in the world im doing? so could you help me on this?

Everything is good in proportions. If you balance healthy foods with fast foods, then you have a good meal plan. If you have too much of one of them, then you will not enjoy eating or be productive.

Fast foods are delicious but they aren't healthy to eat so i would go for homecooked meals being prepared by my wife and mother. my family stays here at my father's house because my wife gave birth and there's no one who would take good care of my two month old son. my mom prepares delicious healthy meals everyday like stir fry vegetables, fish, prawns and a lot more. she's the best cook in the world. my wife loves my mom's way of cooking as well.

I love both home cooked and fast food. When we have fried chicken I always get the taste for KFC. I am not a burger person so burgers and fries don't bother me. A lot of the fast food places know that people are becoming more health concious and are beginning to sell more healthy foods. You might encourage your son to try these - I found several of them to be quite nice and tasty.

thanks a lot - we do loved to cook and go out as well, but you see, sometimes it becomes too easy just to go out and be spared of the hustles and bustles of preparing.. yea, i might as well check around for places serving healthy foods and not just the regular fastfood we always go to.. thanks

Eating fast food isn't healthy so If I were you I would prepare something healthy for the family such as fish, veggies and seafoods.. you can cook one big healthy meal for the day and reheat it the next day or you can make another dish/recipe out of it so your son wouldn't notice that the dish was a leftover... here at home, we don't cook red meat anymore.. i just prepare healthy dishes such as dory with basil and butter, stir fry veggies, etc..

hmmn.. smells good to me. i do love cooking in fact -im more of a veggies and seafood person. i beleive i have to do some paradigm shift - which one is to be valued more...being free (from hustles) or remaining halthy. thank you my dear...at home we don't eat much meat either - any particular resons why you don't eat red meat? any health reasons?

I guess nothing beats homecooked meals. I agree with you that homecooked meals are a lot healthier simply because they're are not filled with high calories unlike in fastfoods. There's nothing with taking fastfood from time to time but i don't think i can live without eating homecooked meals in a day. I think it's something we shouldn't miss. Hey, vegetables are cheap right? So i guess you can prepare meals that are based on vegetables. A little meat isn't bad at all. They're easy to prepare too because overcooked vegetables aren't good.

Well, i love both home cook foods and fast foods. If i had to choose between the two, i would choose home cook foods. The reason is that you may never know how a fast food is prepared, what ingredients have been used, whether clean or dirty hands have cook the food. Well, home cook foods on the other hand is surely clean nice and healthy food. And you are sure you are not eating rubbish.

It's more healthier if kids eat home cooked foods than fast foods. My kids love fastfoods too (who else wouldn't?) but we train them to value and eat home cooked foods and we orient them to the health benefits of these kinds of foods. Also we inform them about the adverse effects of eating fast foods all the time.

please i suggest you to make health foods which are prepared by you to be well balanced and nutritious. Make foods mostly filled with salads which help your kid to quire all the good thing that are available in them. The diet you give to me should be balanced one and nutritious too. Make oil-free and sugar-free foods for his dinner which makes him really healthy. Having fast foods occasionally may not harm his health but there are some people who are habituated to junk foods which really makes harm to their health. Food prepared at home is very advantageous than fast food. Burger, pasta, pizza, coke, hotdogs, etc may harm health....no dougt they can be consumed rarely...happy health :)

oh, thank you so much...that's one thing i'd like to do - that my son won't get the habit of going to fastfoods and me too..just because i dont have time to cook. I guess, it takes discipline for me as well - thanks to you!

Well, for this purpose, you can cook some food extra and prepare it for times when you will be busy and don't have time for cooking stuff and keep it preserved in the fridge. Then you can put it in the microwave and have a healthy meal of your home-made recipes. But once in a while visiting fast food restaurants is also not a bad idea but most importantly should be kept in check!!

Teach your son how to cook the food. When my son was 7-year-old,I told him how to cook,a simple instant soup, steamed dish.He likes to eat grilled steak recently(he does not like eat meat before).I can not roaste steak, everytime the steak was roasted the same as the rubber bite fixed. Therefore,my son personally kitchen, baking his own steak, and said triumphantly:"Grilled steak, mum, you should learn from me!" Cooked his own food, the boy was happy. You can just try!

i think homecook foods is healthier than the fastfoods. However, sometimes if i have no time to cook, i also have fastfood, like burgers and fries, and i hate to admit that they are delicious~ If i have children in the future, i will try my best to do the homecook foods for them. I suggest that you could prepare more food when you have time and put them in the refrigerator, so your children could recook the food when they are hungry.

Me myself is not a fastfood lover. But i went to those place regularly because the taste it is great! But if you asked whether it's good for the health, the answer is 'no.' Maybe you can not see the result now, but see it in the next ten or fifteen years later. The fat from the unchanging oil in the frying pan will cause cancer. If you can not avoid it in your rush hours, make a lunchbox, make whatever healthy in your house then bring it to your office, and eat there.

Most of the people like fast food. I also like fast food but for the goodness of my health I can't take fast food regularly. It's my limitation, I can take it freely and independently but it is true that it the wealth of mine . It's my own responsibility to make and keep sound wealth . If I fall in any disease then I'll have to suffer ownself . I am very conscious taking fast food though I try to take it very now and then.
