Have you become what you always want to be?

"What do you want to be when you grow up?" Everyone have answered this same question when they were a child for ages: in class, in a TV interview or just a random-out-of- the-blue-question... Yet, only one or two in the whole bunch of kids who answered became what they said they want to be. It could be because they had lost the interest to become one or because they thought that they do not have the ability to be one, anymore. Now I ask you the same kindergarten question you have outgrown. What do you want to be? And a follow up question: Have you become one, already?

I think my sense of who I want to be has changed over the past few years. I have wanted to be a lot of things and now that I look back, I havent really been any of them. right now, who I want to be is somebody who likes me for whoever I have become, somebody who has learned to love and accept who she really is.

When I was young, I had aspirations of becoming an engineer or an architect. I never thought of myself one day as being among the rich and famous, just to be someone who know and love God, can lead a happy family life, with a good income, home, car and career. Looking back now, I would say that I've been able to achieve much of that, except that I did not end up being an engineer or an architect. My studies didn't qualify me to enter those professions. Instead I worked all my life in the IT environment, but I am happy for that, because being in the IT field had been quite a glamorous career for me. On the whole, I am happy enough with what I have achieved for myself. I am not among the rich and famous, but certainly I have a comfortable happy life I cannot complain about.

Well when I was kid I always wanted to be a pilot, when I was about to enter college I wanted to be a mechanical engineer, but then I ended up being a nurse. I ended up not fulfilling my dreams but I ended being happy with my profession. Being able to help others and seing their happiness when ever I help them, thoose are simply priceless. Happiness and contentment they always come, but not always they way we imagine it to be.

I wanted to be an Engineer from my childhood but I couldn't fulfil my dreams because I feel in bad habits and lost some precious years to my life. Now, I am looking for any kind of job so that I can earn money and live with my family. Whatever job I will get, I will be happy with it!

Dreams are always changing as time goes by. When I wandering without purpose in various kinds of human market, I desire for a stable job(any job to support me) and my own house (any size). Later when I own these, I find the job is not what I like, so I hop for another job. Although I like it very much, only one day a week's holiday drives me crazy, I have no free time to do my own thing or care for my family and kid. Then I think that my house is not big enugh to hold many things. it seems that I have too many complaints to talk about. What should i do? I still must strive for my dream life?

I would like to believe so, and more...I got promoted twice over to administrative positions I never dreamed of achieving. So here I am, doing my best to match the expectations of people who believe in me. At home, I have also surpassed my dream...3 cars, a house and lot of our own, wonderful husband, two interesting and loving kids. What more could I ask for? I feel blessed, and I'd return the favor of doing something for other people. Recently, I volunteered to shoulder a one semester expense on tuition and other fees of a poor but deserving student. The mother was ecstatic about it, but I believe in the saying that the more I give, the more I receive....

I have always wanted to be a mom and I am one so yes I guess so. As for a career I always changed it and never really knew what I wanted to do. That still hasn't changed either. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up. LOL I try to help my children get focused so they know what they like to do and how to get there. I hope they don't feel lost like I do when it comes to a career path.

I can say what I wanted to be when I was smaller, but I haven't become those things and do not wish to become those things anymore. The list of things I wanted to be when I was younger are as follows : Firefighter, Doctor, Working With Computers - and I believe that may have been it, but I'm not quite sure. In any case, now I want to be a farmer. I haven't become one yet because my fiance and I are living with his parents, the property we hope to live on is actually the property we live on now. I don't think it would be big enough to house a big farm, and we'd be competition with our neighbor farmers, lol!

I have wanted to work in a scientific lab since middle school. That is what I went to college for. That is what I am currently doing. Now that I am here, I know it isnt my dream job! Im not really sure what my dream job would be. I know that one thing I want to do with my life still is to be a stay at home mom. My husband and I have talked about having kids. We both agree that they are still about a year and a half away before we try. We are working on paying off our cars and paying down the mortgage. We are also saving up money. All of these things will make it more likely for me to be able to stay home when we have kids. We are definitely working to make our dreams come true! Even if I have to work when we have kids, we have agreed that I will work night shifts and he will work during the day. That way we still dont have to put our kids in daycare! I guess it just goes to show that dreams are always changing. Not just when you are a kid, but your whole life!
