Has anyone else had abusive answers to their discussions?

May 13, 2009 4:37pm CST
I started a discussion yesterday about a situation I was in, about another guy and what does this guy what from me and I am shocked that I have received some abuse calling me w*ore and s*ut which I am definately not. I started this discussion because I wanted some advice not to get abuse and be judged from others when no-one on here knows anything about me! Has anyone else had abuse to discussions they have started??

I know the discussion you are speaking of. You have to realize when you put yourself all out there like that over the web, you open yourself to criticism. And really people don't know you so all they know is what you tell them. And basically you told them you are a home wrecker. My boyfriend and I were reading the questions yesterday and he to said W*ore as soon as he saw your question. I have been in the situation, but you have to realize a lot of people have been cheated on, and many others know somebody who has. You know what your doing is wrong, yet you continue to go back. But again this is another assumption. I don't know the full story, just remember that next time you put something on here. Expecting the world to be nice to you becuase your a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge becuase your a vegetarian. You made yourself out not to be a nice person, so you had to expect some negativity, if you didn't I want some of what your taking.

I didn't see the thread, but anyone using bad language like that should be reported. If you DO post controversial material, you have to have a pretty thick skin, and expect some negative comments. Abusive language is going way too far. I prefer a mature debate. I hope you reported this person, or persons

No, thankfully I have not have any such abusive responses to tackle with and frankly speaking this is where mylot and its guidelines seems totally inadequate and incomprehensible to me. there are some everyday words which have double meanings and we cant use them (eg. pri*ck somebody's ego)and here we have people using any number of abusive words with gaps or ** used in between...I think its time Mylot took the words for their meanings and not only what they are written as, and then decide to censor

Just rate him negative stars and complain to one of the MyLot staffs . Although i don't know how to contact them but yes i really don't like people who try to make such comments . They need to be reported .You can also use report button and tell to admins about his comment , i am sure admins after going through his comment will delete it .

Some people just need to find a way to make others feel worse than they do. It's a power trip kind of thing. While I am new here and do not know of the post of which you are refering to I am able to get the jist of the post from some of the comments that have been left here. Like the comment that was left before, if you open yourself up completely on line you are bound to bring out the not so nice side of some. Take it all in stride and shrug it off. Report the incident to the site managers as has been offered previously and move on. It is not worth keeping the heat turned up on an already burned subject.

I have just joined MyLot, but did not find anything like this. Being a positive internet user and a Businessman I would like to say the Abusive response to your question was extremely wrong and this leads to put bad impression on other people using MyLot. I would suggest MyLot that they should implement a kind of policy or rule that you check each and every answer which is being replied, I know this is very difficult, but NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE! .... I would advise each and every one using MyLot that please do not abuse and use the internet for positive things and get positive things in turn... GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU..

If you ask an honest question and want honest feedback, you're bound to get answers that you don't want to hear. Every once in a while you get worthless aggressive banter, but you won't get ANY feedback if you're not willing to put yourself out there and screen the responses for applicability. Or something like that.

There has been a lot of it lately. You shouldn't have to deal with it. Report it and hopefully it will get taken care of.

No - but only cos I don't have an exciting enough life to warrant the attention! It happens a lot here, trolls sniffing around for any excuse to put their sad noses in (having no lives of their own, naturally they cannot create discussions of their own) I had a peep - yeah, as I thought, brainless morons who have trouble spelling anything that has more letters in than their IQ level has numbers. You're in good company here. Ignore the trolls, they turn to rocks and wobble away into dust.
