I will say that you get your friend to check with the Lenovo distributor of your country in regards to the price of the replacement battery. If not, you can also try if any of your local laptop shops do sell the Lenovo laptop replacement battery.
I'm not very sure of the price of the replacement battery in your country. I guess it may vary for different laptop models as well. It will be best for you to check it out from the above sources first.

Sorry to hear your laptop battery was damaged - you did not mention how it happened,but please be careful getting repairs done,as there are a lot of folks out there who trade on the fact that the rest of us don't know much about computers!My first move would be to search Amazon.com for a replacement battery,checking out all the brands,just to get an idea of how much they cost.Next I would look at local stores and see who had a good deal on the one I picked.I'd also look at the computers website to see if this battery problem was not a "known issue" that they had recorded and were giving out replacements for.

Dear Friend,
Inform your friend to contact nearby authorized Lenovo Service Center for battery replacement. The cost of new battery would be high but it is always recommended to get it replaced by authorized service centers in order to get genuine component and quality product. You can find the nearby service centers in Lenovo's website.

Woow...I checked the price of lenovo battery ...It cost more than 6000....I think it is better to buy a ups!!!!
