I am so excited, we start our garden and working on our backyard every memorial day weekend.... it has been this way since we got married 13 years ago and now we are just 2 weekends away until we will start it again.
We have been talking about all the things we want to do in our yard what we need to get in the next few weeks... its like the antisipation before the event....
Do you have big plans for your backyard this summer?? or even your front yard... do you want to do something completely different or will you do it the same way??

I am dreading Memorial weekend. My husband decided, without speaking to me first, that we were going to have a big party for his son's birthday. not only will this be an expensive undertaking but a lot of work. I know who will be stuck with all the work and I really don't feel like it. We have a nice enough yard but not enough lawn furniture and stuff for a crowd. why do husbands do stuff like that? plus he is clueless when it comes to how much it is going to cost just to feed all these people. uggghhh.

oh I am so sorry to hear that... and yes, they never really know what it takes to put it all together and how much you have to spend.
I hope it all works out...good luck!!

This year I doubled the area of my garden out back. I also seperated and transplanted some Asiatic Lilies, Day Lilies, Hostas, and also Lily of the valley as well as some other plants I have around the yards. Been busy now I wait fopr all my crops to grow and the flowers to bloom.

that is so great that you got to double the garden... I wish we could, but we dont have a very big yard... and now 2 kids, we really cant take up to much space, but we have a plan that we are hoping will work so that we can have room for them to play and still grow some veggies too...
happy mylotting and have a great day!!

I have a guy who does my yard work for me so I'm just going to do it the same way. All he does is cut the grass, weed eat, trim the shrubbery, etc. It might be nice to do something different but I don't have the money to spend on it. I've been thinking it might be nice to plant some flowers in my backyard where I have a birdbath. I know mother used to keep flowers there years ago. Like I said, I can't afford it, though.

I'd love to have a garden but I don't know how to plow the ground up in order to have one. We used to keep a garden just about every summer when daddy was living. I know it would help me with my food costs, anyway, and I love fresh vegetables.

thats true, when you are on a budget it is hard to change things then...
we have tried our garden in 2 different spots and even though we didnt get much veggies on them, they grew well... we are hoping this year to be different.
happy mylotting and have a great day.
