Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann is asking Congress to cut off all federal funds to ACORN due to their criminal involvment in voter registration fraud. If you want to read the whole article it is here. It is pretty good. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/05/14/bachmann-calls-congress-block-funds-acorn/ She tried to get a bill passed that would stop any organization who committs a crime from being able to get federal funds.....but it got shot down in the house. She is going to try again. What do you think? Should all federal funding to ACORN be cut off? Are you going to contact your elected officials and ask them to lend their support to Rep. Bachman in stopping criminal organizations from getting federal funds?

What do you think are the chances of them cutting the funding of ACORN? There are so many agencies that are affiliated with ACORN that are federally funded that are not actually part of ACORN that they will be able to continue functioning no matter what is done. Not to mantion that the "O" will never let his pet be obliterated. I think, that not only should ACORN be OBLITERATED, but every inch of it should be investigated and every organization affiliated with it should be investigated and possibley shut down too. I HAVE contacted elected officials on this matter and I have had my kids do so too, because they live in other areas. Shalom~Adoniah

I agree. Not only should they have their funds cut off. But they need to be fully investigated and the guilty ones charged.

Don't forget all of the agencies affiliated with them. If these are not cut off also then there is no point in cutting off ACORN as they will keep funding Acorn themselves. They have even said that they will. Shalom

Here's another article about ACORN that I think may be more credible than the Fox site: http://minnesotaindependent.com/34507/acorn-relishing-new-role-as-gop-boogeyman They haven't been convicted of anything yet. I have to take anything pushed by Michelle Bachmann with a grain of salt. Are you sure she doesn't have some kind of McCarthy-like trials stuck in with her bill? Here's more about Michelle and her amendment: http://carloz.newsvine.com/_news/2009/05/03/2768549-michele-bachmanns-latest-lies-rep-falsely-claimed-acorn-faces-criminal-charges-and-is-under-irs-iinvestigation Annie

Sorry, don't see anything credible about either one you posted. Even their own are asking questions about where the money has gone and have been forced out for wanting to know. The ones blowing the whistle on Acorn's voter fraud have been democrats in many cases. The members are asking for accountability which, if Acorn is an honest organization, should not be made a secret. These people have a right to know.

I really don't see why any of these types of organizations should get any government funding. I pay taxes for running the government not for some one to run around gathering bus loads of people to protest in neighborhoods. I see this organization as party one not a government one

They sure don't deserve any funds. And they should have to pay back any they have received and/or spent. BUT we all know these are friends of the president so they may even get more. After all they did help him get elected. It a "you pat my back" and "I'll pat yours" situation. Writing and/or calling your elected officials should be done every day. Maybe then they will stop and listen after a while.

I agree. We should all be calling everyday until they finally get the message.

Yes, they should not receive any federal funding. They are basically a front organizationg to register people to vote for Democrates and they do it with fraud. They pay people to sign up voters who then sign up people who aren't citizens of the U.S. or who are also voters in other states or are in other towns and some who are in the ground. We voters should not have to pay for their at best sloppy and careless methods and at worst totally illegal activities.

I definitely agree with this bill. Really, if any organization you knew got in trouble with the law, would YOU want to donate money towards it again? I wouldn't until I had proof they cleaned up their act.
