My mom, now 86, was always a tremendously good role model. From her, I learned the importance of honesty, respect, and how to be loving. I also learned that busy people are happier than people with nothing to do, and that children are more precious than money. What are the five most important things you learned from your mother?

I learned to do any job to the very best of my ability and to be proud that I had done it that way. I learned to ask questions. I learned to cook. I learned to look at all people as individuals not to classify people by race or color. I learned that life is exciting and constantly changing and to enjoy that.

Mom taught me that family should always be first. You can have as many friends as you wish, but you'll only have one family. She also taught me to respect elders, to show compassion to the poor, to live within my means and to be God-fearing.

There are just so many things I've learned from my mom, but what stood out to me was her deep humility and concern for others. For almost 25 years she had been a court attorney who works for the government and despite her prestigious profession and the glamour in it she lived her life very simple and true to her profession. As her daughter I experience pressures around me having all those rich people around us, but despite that my mom does not pretend to be one of them but still she's friends with them. I also learned from my mom the value of respect from others which not just come from riches but from a kind heart. It's true what she always say which is also quoted in the Bible: humble yourself and you will be raised. That was one thing I will always be proud of my mom. She's not blinded with riches but she's happy and contented.

Top 5 important things I have learned from my mom would be: 1. Always put God first before anything. When you have God first in everything that you do and say then everything will follow. From a young age I was brought up going to church and having alot of friends from church. Thus being brought up this way, I can say that I was brought up great! I do not confirm with what the world says and therefore I am definitely enjoying my life. 2. Being Honest...to yourself and to others. There is no better way to live your life without being honest. 3. Family will always be there no matter what. For some it may not be important but my mom would always remind me and my brother to stick together be close to eachother so that when we grow up we have eachother. 4. Obedience. This is something my mom would always remind us when we were little. 5. Be wise in anything we do. So there...these are the top 5 I have learnt from my mom. My mom is the greatest! Even though she may not know this but I think she is the greatest!
