The D-Day arrives in India. Tomorrow we will get the first picture of how India has voted this time around. But the pre D-Day pictures which I get from the news is not good. The regional parties are gaining too much importance. Nitish Kumar says I will give support to those who give Bihar a special status. Telangana politcians say we support those who are sympathetic to the cause of the formation of Telangana. Jayalalitha says I will support those who will bring down the DMK government. Some other politicians from UP say we will support those who bring down Mayawati government. Every politician is looking after his selfish needs. Wheeling and dealing in the mandi of elections no one really cares of the national issues. And two of our biggest national parties will compromise to the pits to make the government -- Congress more than BJP. For congress taking support from the left again will not be of great shame even after what they did to the government over the nuclear treaty issue. It is a disgrace to see this going. What do you think as Indians. Are we so selfish, so unconcerned, so regional.

The show has just begun today. There will be twists and turns in it for the next 2 or 3 days. I don't think people from India has chosen a single party to rule. I mean not any party will have majority and thus the game will have to be played to get PM's post. This time, even BSP is saying that Congress should support BSP so that Mayavati can get to PM's post. I don't think Lalu will get ample seats so, his chances of becoming PM is very less. Well, I have voted for Congress, let's see what happens.

To make me surprise, Congress got almost 250 seats this election. One thing is for sure that we will again see a full 5 years of government. Why are you not happy with it?

I am not sure whether they will still take the policy decisions to handle the situation we as a country are in right now. With the recession going on. To top it all, 40% increase in the prices of food. And a real threat of Taliban so close to our borders. And our role in Sri lanka seeming so much like what pakistan is doing to india. Will this government take bold decisions coming out of their vote bank politics.

We are in the transit phase of democracy, which it self is half baked. It will take decades before things might change. But I think voters or public are more disgraceful than the politician as well political parties. If you are going to vote stupidly then thats what you going to have! How come in a National election for Parliament, Indian public is voting for more than 50 parties!Indian public is shallow and mean and selfishly vote on the basis of cast, creed, religion, region and personal gain.If they would have voted for good governess and for the Nation then you wouldnt have been seeing , whats happening these days.

Agreed. I mean when it is national elections one should have a choice of two or three. Too much choice is also against principles of democracy.
