http://in.news.yahoo.com/137/2090514/362/twl-arctic-explorers-find-more-evidence.html This news talks of the increasing temperatures and decreasing ice cover. The melting of ice cover can have catostrophic effects on the existence of human race. The reason given for this Arctic thaw as they call it is due to the greenhouse gas emissions. This is what the humans have done. What are we trying to do to our world? Why are being so selfish? Why dont we see these small signs of nature? There would be a lot of things which happen due to the various factors which not in our hands. But cant we at least stop doing the destructive things which we do -- we humans do? Destroying our ecosystem by destroying forests, killing animals and emissions of greenhouse gases.

The first question you should ask from yourself is that are you not participating in destroying this environment. For me, I am using my PC, Washing Machine, TV and I do use Petrol vehicle and always looking for plac to buy, which all are liable to make futher damage to our system. Now, the situation is that bad that if we don't stop using these things, we will go back to our stone age soon. I belive that it is too late and the populaiton is that big that it is absolutelly impossible to control all of them. Believe or not, we are heading to our destruction!

Believe it or not we dont even have to stop using these stuff completely to save our environment. This can be achieved in various ways.. Firstly, Plants lots of plants around you. Plants and trees. Use alternative source of energy. Solar power, though expensive can be used to power the applainces. Recycle. I am proud to say that there is a kind of a huge society, a really huge one, so huge that we call it a city, where the water is warmed with solar panels. People dont use geysers and boilers to get hot water. They use solar power for hot water and that too 24 hours a day. The water, which is used by the people instead of being left off in the river is filtered in the filteration plant and used to water all the plants which are present in their gardens and roadsides. The wet garbage is turned to manure in their vermiculture pits. I personally see to it that paper and plastic are sent for recycling after being reused. I would avoid plastic bags and carry my own bag. Cant we as individuals follow in their footsteps instead of just blaming each other for destruction. Thats what we do best. We blame others and then sit back and do the same what we blamed others for.

Most of the time, we are fighting very hard with our own life that we can't think about lot bigger things like Global Warming. I used to not to use plastic bags and used to carry my own bag when things were good for me in my life but since I have lost my job, I am only concentrating on getting my job back. I can't think about other things and I use plastic bags as I think that if I misplace my own bag, we will have to sew another one!

I know it is difficult during this time. And we are faced with a problem of our own we dont think of a bigger picture. But it is not the only thing is it. You can reuse plastic bags over. Hope you get a job soon.

we cant blame it on human entirely. yes, its true that we are exploiting all resources wrecklessly and without a second thought. Sun is also emitting energy far greater than before. it is also becoming unstable at certain times and that causes lots of changes on earth. it will take sometime before it rebalances itself. imagine a situation where sun collapses into itself, what will happen? the powerless planets like earth will be just sucked into the Sun or if the sun expands, its solar flares will be thrown much beyond the earth revolutionary path. of course man made problems need to be addressed and rectified as far as possible. the cycle of destruction and regeneration will continue as it happened many times. and that is a fact of life.

See there are certain cycles which do happen like the warming and cooling of the earth's atmosphere. If you go into deep study of it, there is also a theory of reversal of poles and the closest and farthest points from the sun or other planets in some thousands of years period. But then it is in thousands of years, maybe millions of years. We are not letting the earth takes its natural course. We are accelarating the destruction. Our sun is a very young star. The life of our solar system is still millions of years to come and there fore there will be constant evolution. But we are just driving our earth fast foward to destruction and us to extinction.

The world is dying and it may be man's fault. Who is big enough to stop it? I don't really know and I just do what I can to keep the planet on a good balance but then again, it's hardly enough. cheers!!
