My husband laughed at me tonight when he saw me glare at two youngsters embracing at the mall parking lot. They looked like they were barely 15. He said that I am a prude. Now, what exactly is a prude? I googled it and Wikipedia said that a prude (Old French prude)[1] is a person who is described as being concerned with decorum or propriety. They may be perceived as being uncomfortable with sexuality, nudity, alcohol, drug use or mischief.Oh well. What about you? Are you a prude? Or in what way are you a prude?

I think i am a prude may be because in our counties these things not normal to happen in open . I mean i will not actually gaze but feel uncomfortable or shy to be in a place where people might be doing kissing , drinking or swearing names . I don't know why , i don't say that i am against all this but few places really makes me feel shy or uncomfortable . I do gaze people sometimes if i am with my friends .

Yup, such things are not normal where I live. Though I get see a lot of brave souls and public displays of affection and other things nowadays. I only feel disapproving when it involves minors. With adults, well, I do not exactly approve and I wish they would not do it in front of me, but hey, they are old enough to know what they are doing, I guess. Take care!

I wouldn't go so far as to call you a prude. I think it is sweet to see young people hugging, embracing, walking arm in arm. I don't care to see a couple of any age so all over each other that you feel like suggesting they get a room. But even that doesn't bother me enough to actually say anything. I think it all depends on who you talk to and what their moral standards are. I have a friend that strips and sleeps around a lot. In her mind...I am a prude.

Hello If I see two adults pawing each other, I will have the same thought, metschica. I will laugh at them, actually. Hmmm...but I think I will feel embarrassed for them if I knew them I think my "prudishness" would just surface if it involves youngsters. They should be spanked! Lol!

I think I am not a prude. Although I am quite sensitive to those things mentioned above. Maybe because I am still young? Oh well, on being sixteen...I think it's still hasn't come to me to be very serious about those topics. Although, I am aware about them.

I think prude is about generation gap. I'm a little prude off course.. something that what i never / cant do in my young time and nowadays doing by youngster always made me little prude. So IMHO, prude is humane. I'm prude when saw youngster in present days optimally utilize latest information technology. I know that is weird way to be prude, but when looking at them, i feel like I'm very "old mud technology stammer"

I love that definition of the word prude. I always knew what it meant, but that definition really sums it up perfectly. I, myself, am the opposite of a prude. I encourage debauchery (It is basically the antonym of being prudish. It means indulging in pleasure of all kinds in excess). I encourage mischief. lol. Which is probably a bad thing seeing as how I ended up with the sneakiest but funniest 6 year olds in the world. But yeah, I say if it's fun do it...you only live once. Just don't hurt anyone else in the process.

Oh, this is an interesting question. I should admit sometimes I am a prude.I mean I am too traditional.I don't like that people kiss in public. I don't like women wear a little. I don't like playboy ect. But sometimes I think we have right to do what we want to do . It is natural to kiss for a couple in public. Some cloth is really nice although it looks too little. And boys who are handsome of course are popular among girls. I can understand but I just don't like.So I think I am a prude.

I think I am a prude, this is probably because of the culture from which I grew up with. I would probably not stare with what the kids are doing but I would surely be uncomfortable especially if it happens here in my country. However, there are cultures which are very open and accepting to this public display of affection and if I happened to be in their country, I wouldn't mind. Many times I saw youngsters kissing and hugging in the train station, I really didn't mind because it is accepted in their culture and you can see similar situations very often in many public areas. But what the heck if they are happy with what they are doing, so be it, as long as they do not disturb other people around them.
