It is way past our U.S. geography class. But I just wonder how many of us here remember all 50 states of the United States? I can honest to say, I can count on 30 states for sure. How many can you remember?

I know all 50 states and could place them on a map. My son had to learn all 50 states and capitals but could not read a map. I taught him how to read a map and he can find all the states and capitals as well as the major cities on a map. Learning the states is a good thing but I think children should be taught to read and use a map rather than learning the state capitals.

I learned to memorize all 50 states sometime when I was in elementary school. There was a little song we learned that had the states in there, and I have never forgotten it. The next thing I need to learn is all of the state capitals. lol :)

i know most of them but i dont know where they are all situated. i remember when i was growing up, we had to learn all the states and all the state capitals oddly enough and didnt encourage any learning about canada much. now we are much prouder of our heritage and they don't as much about the us anymore.
