What happened to Gretchen in Prison Break?

That is an excellent question. That is a loose end. But I read on wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prison_Break that we should assume the police arrested her and then took her to a hospital. It was also said that there would be a DVD that would solve some of the loose ends, possibly including the Gretchen mystery.

Hello, the series already ended but I would still answer the question. She was at the prison, alive and almost got out of it if only she was not caught by the guards when she and Sara are escaping the prison. It was a different Gretchen though, her attitude there changed, maybe because she really wanted to see her daughter. She failed but it was good of her to protect Sara and let her go without her, although they made a deal. Gretchen's character is really strong and I am proud of her as the series ended.
