Why do you use internet as making money or just getting interest or anything?

Few weeks before I became the member of MyLot. I am striving to make money from only this site. Mylot is a constructive web site that is used as a medium of exchanging news and views among the people of Mylot community. Before it I was not familiar with such a website. But I use internet from few years. I would like to use few sites to achieve interest and gather knowledge. But I want to know about other interesting websites which are used by my Mylot friends. Actually I am informed only few websites so I want to inform from my friends who use many interesting and constructive or learning websites. I am waiting for response and also expecting some guidelines and advices.
