I have put my oldest in daycare. I wouldn't recommend the daycare system unless you really do your homework.

I would if I really had to. Luckily for me, my mom babysits in her home for a few children in her neighbourhood, so my daughter goes over there when I'm at work. I like that London gets to play with the other kids, but she still gets to not be in a setting where there's tons of kids and not enough people to watch them.

yes, that is the best situation. Chances are your mom gives London the attn, that others wouldn't be able to. Thanks for your response.

I would be afraid to put my child in there. Too many stories. If possible, I rather raise my own child. If you must work, then I suppose you have no choice and you must do a lot of homework.

I think that whether you put your child in day care or not, let you mom watch your kids or not...ultimately you raise your children...This garbage if you put your children in daycare...you're not raising your children...is just that...garbage. sorry giving my opinion.... I stay at home with my kids, and work part time ,, and then my hubby watches my kids...on occ. someone else will watch the girls. I don't be grudge or think worse of a woman who has to work. JMHO. Thanks for your response.

Basically, I don't have a job, therefore, I will not put my daughter in daycare. It's better to teach her at home, instead.

I have two boys and both of them were on daycare. I had to put my oldest one on daycare because I had a job and could not stop working. When I had my second son, I was not working so I had decided not to put him in daycare. My second son was born 2 and a half months early, and by the time he was one, his doctors told me that the best thing I could do was put him in daycare because it would be good for his social life and also to gain physical strenght. Of course, I didn't send my kids to the first daycare I visited. I must have been to at least 20 interviews before making up my mind.

I interviewed several over the phone, but only visited one. I should have done more research. Thanks for your response.

I would put my daughter in daycare for the interaction with other children. But I do agree with you that you have to do your homework. I worked in the daycare business for a couple years. You need to visit unexpectedly and get names of other parents who have their kids in the daycare and call them. I know in Florida there's a website you can go to that will tell you all the inspection results for all the daycares in Florida.

Both of my children are in daycare, but I did alot of interviews before I decided where they were going. They both love their sitter and she loves them.

i agree with you. my son is only 1 and i wouldnt put him in daycare until he was able enough to tell me whats going on. i had a babysitter who abused me so im VERY careful of who i let watch my son, which is mostly just me and my hubby, since we dont live close to any family

if you were addressing me, I wasn't accusing them of abuse. They were just incompetent, and god knows how many people they have accused of child abuse. I tell everyone I know not to choose the same daycare facility I did. They are incompetent...let alone able to deal with a special needs kid. Blame it all on the parent! what crap! thanks for your response.

No, I would not put any of my children in daycare, and never have, I have 3 children and I have been home for all of them. They do drive you crazy, but there is good and bad in every circumstance. I just believe if you have the children, you should raise the children, and be their for them as long as possible! And another point is, why would anybody go back to work, just so that they could make money to pay the daycare provider.

I don't necessarily agree with you. People put their kids in daycare for a variety of reasons. I put my daughter in daycare for 10 months because we had no kids around and she needed the socialization. Mind you I raise my 2 daughters, and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for them. As it was, it was one of my regrets because what my daughter needed was early intervention, not mean spirited loser day care people.
