We will be doing less this year, we will still be taking a few weekends to get away, but nothing major. 2008 was a very bad year for us, and the beginning of 2009 was also bad.....We just got back to work a few weeks ago and it looks like it is going to start picking back up again for us....We are in construction, and it was so slow, for such a long time, but it looks like building is starting to happen again.

We have noticed construction has picked up a lot around here too. That's great for your guys!! People are anxious to get things done too now that the weather is nice...not so nice today - it's raining again! It might be nice to just go to NC or GA for a weekend. Hopefully things will be back to normal, whatever normal is!

It has effected me somewhat, being my company is downsizing and I'm in fear of my job every day. I do have some vacation time saved up, but I'm afraid to take it...yes, I left quite a bit of detail out in my thread because I'm trying to be positive.
As you know, the work is all caught up now, so I'm afraid that they'll spread my work out among the other workers & decide they no longer need the expense of paying me every two weeks. On the other hand, if I don't take it, I won't be compensated for it should I get downsized.

For our own sanity we have to be positive, but it's still ok to speak as you feel. A good outlook and attitude can over come a lot, but it doesn't mean bad things don't happen - what it gives you is a means to get by those bad things and look forward. None of us know what will happen on a day to day basis. It's good to come in here, where people don't get offended, and speak your mind. It helps, right? The best I can say is try to save a much money as you can each paycheck...just try to build up a little money just in case. Good luck to you!

i love to travel so i try to go for a vacation once a year. this year i'll be going to australia, in fact my trip is in 2 weeks time. can't wait!

Sounds great - I'm just now catching up on these...seems to be no problem with money for those who have replied. Good for all of you that you can take a vacation, especially out of the country...I can't afford to go to the next town...joke...I think lots of places are offering very good deals and airfares are probably good too. Hope you all enjoy your vacations!

I have to pay yet for my last vacations
. I was invited on January for a 3 week vacation at the Caribbean aboard a yatch if I would pay for the air ticket. I couldn´t saty no so I got into debt which I´m paying with my online earnings. Probably I will start thinking about vacations again at the end of the year.

Sounds like you had a good time on that yacht vaca. If I had to pay for anything with my online earnings it would take many years!! Hope you get that one paid off soon!
