It has been 4 years since I had my first korean movie: "The Classic", which has touched my heart and caused me a sleepless night. Unrealistically magnified isn't it? But it's true: it did really caused me a sleepless night. I was a senior student that time and I was not used to movies with sad endings. From then on, I become an avid fan of asian movies, specifically korean and Japanese movies/series. Last year, my dearest cousin asked me to watch "one liter of tears". It is a true to life story based on Aya's diary. The story is obviously all about Aya, who happened to have a rare disease which that time, has still no cure since they don't even know what causes such disease. But despite her condition, Aya lived normally. She remained happy as she thought that being happy is the essence of our living. Her brother once disowned her for her condition because his friends might laugh at him. Even her sister! Her disease forced her father to double his work just to earn more money and forced her mother to give up her job to look after her. She was disabled by her disease: she can't walk, can't write with her own hands or even talk. She can do nothing! But instead of giving up, she did fight her disease, standing up everytime she falls. This series did really brought me to tears. One liter isn't enough actually, it caused me to cry a river!^^ From Aya's diary: (1) What's wrong with falling down? As long as I stand up again, it's ok. (2) This disease. Why did it choose me? Fate. It can't be put into words. (3) I want to make a time machine. If it wasn't for this disease, not only I could enjoy falling in love but also I wouldn't have to rely on anyone and live by myself. (4) Live forever!^^ (5) Life is hard, but no matter how hard it is, life must go on. (6) Mom, will I get ever married? (7) Just being alive is such a lovely and woderful living. (8) I'm alive! I just thought of posting a blog regarding this series since I've heard that this is being aired in GMA5. be blessed guys! ^^
