I was working on my current cross-stitch project last night... boogying along, making progress, when I realized I was following the wrong symbol for the floss with which I last threaded my needle. Had to rip it all out, which not only was a waste of time but a waste of thread, too, because it kept breaking on the undo. I'm not sure which bugs me more... that I used the wrong color, that I had to rip it out, or that I wasted floss (I hate wasting things).

I've done that with my crochetting - get 10 rows done and realize I should have changed color or stitch and have to take it all out. I tend to always have extra yarn though so not so upset at wasting a little here and there. Made a full sized afghan for my parents a couple years ago - all from scrape yarn left from other afghans, it was very colorful :)

Well, the girls (women) who sit on either side of me at work would be convinced I should take the prize if there was one for "Worlds Greatest Idiot" - but it's in fun and I know they not only appreciate the laughs I provide for them but that they do love me :)

That totally sucks! I have done that before. I am the same way, I hate wasting things! My time or materials! So both of those things would bother me. But I am a perfectionist when it comes to my crafts, so it definitely happens. The other thing that I have done is started a color a row or two off. And then I dont realize it until after I finish with that color. It is the same problem - a waste of time and a waste of thread! Quite frustrating! It will be worth it in the end when you have a beautifully finished project!
