yes gigaget is a simple downloader.
Has the ability to preallocate space for a given download.
It can download file from multiple locations, this comes handy when one of the location becomes faulty.
But it cannot download embedded objects.
its site always redirects to some Chinese site.

What advantage does Flashget have over Internet Download Manager? Does it have any extra features which IDM does not have?

There are lots and lots of managers which let you down load files from the net and they let you break the files in to two to ten small files and you can download it. I like getitright as best download manager. It lets me ( free version) to download file in 4 pieces and would let me download from exactly same place if i got disconnected or if i have to go somewhere in middle od downloading. Dap is also i have used and is good but not as good as Get It Right.

My favorite download manager is utorrent. It's easy to use and in most time,it is stable, unlike other software which are easy to break. What's more,it usually has a high speed, even the network stat is bad.So I recommend utorrent to you!
