Well I read an article in the newspaper earlier this week which stated that a girl aged 10 yrs was killed by a teacher.........the teacher flung a duster which landed straight on her head killing her....... Her mistake:- she was not able to complete some task given by her..... I was not able to imagine the amount of agony and pain the students parents might be going through........there are various other ways of correcting a student if he/she is not doing well........why to harm them physically....... Most of us have got whacks from our teachers, atleast once in our academic year.......but I feel sometimes the lecturers should just be in their limits..... When I was in my kinder garden.......I was not well and had puked in the class room......the punishment I got, I was made to sweep the floor and was in trauma for days.......imagine a small little kid doing this activity.......my mother stormed the school and yelled out at the teacher and also reported this matter to the principal making sure this never happened again....... I feel teacher should have lots of patience and love.......if they cant do this job and dont love kids then why join such a job ???? This job demands more than just studies......it results in the overall development of the child and his future.....

Oh my gosh....that is just terrible. Where in the world was something like this allowed to take place? I know here in the states any type of abuse will get the child taken away and get you a time in jail depending on how severe the abuse was. Why should teachers be permitted to do something this monsterous as to take the life of this little girl for not being able to finish an assignment that was given to her. I hope that this teacher is given what they deserve and made an example of so others don't think they can get away with it too. My prayers go out to the family that justice is seved on this teacher. flutterby

I know that in the USA it used to be okay for a teacher to take a ruler to a child's hand, and I think maybe even buttocks. I am not sure about the latter method. However, I do think that in today's world everyone needs to find a different approach to reprimanding a child for bad behavior, or for not doing their studies / not able to complete their studies. I am not sure where this teacher teaches (the country) but I hope that wherever she is she is brought to justice, and that the parents of the student, and other parents of students at the school, as well as the students will get the justice, and help they deserve and / or need.

Hello there John! I like the name by the way! I am still studying and currently in 2nd year high school in the Philippines. My teachers aren't that cruel. I study in a private school and well when it's class time and we do something that is not good our teachers just give us lectures but when it is not class time, The students and the teachers bond quite well. Some teachers are really popular with us students.
