Hello friends, I'm just wondering if anyone is starting to get scared concerning having their money in paypal? I hear that some people's account have been hacked into and they find their money is gone. Has this happened to you and if it does what would you do?

no i don't get worried. it was hacked before. but paypal gave it back all the money amounting to almost $300. what i did after that was change my password to a very difficult one and so now i have not been hacked again.

Well as of now my money is there in paypal and I have had that account for quite some time now and no, I am not scared about my account being hacked. Yes I have heard that happen to quite a few here and if it does happen to me, well what precautions can I take apart from removing my account? As it is I have an unverified account, so I am not very sure as to if I could get any security from paypal.

Nope, not scared here. I only have a few bucks in there and once Mylot sends money I transfer it right then. I never keep anything more then 5 bucks in there anyways. I have been using Paypal for a few years now and have never had a problem with it. If it did ever happen to me I would contact Paypal asap. I would explain to them what happened and that I didnt take my money out and so forth.

If my paypal account was hacked into somehow i would make a new one. Whoever will go on my paypal account will find eleven cents so that is nothing. Besides, i can make a new one for free.

yeah Mikehuynh I know just what you mean and I can totally relate. If anybody was to steal eleven cents they would have to be kind of desperate. Hopefully you will never have to worry about anyone taking that but then again you can never be too careful and even if they did take it, that would be your eleven cents and I'm sure that you want to keep it safeguarded. Happy mylot.

I never leave money in my PayPal account. As soon as I get money in the account, I move it out to my bank account. I just use PayPal as a payment processor and transfir agent and not as if it were a regular bank - which it is not.

I just cashed in my money with paypal. It had been sitting there for six months before I finally asked for it in check form. I have had no problems. Perhaps it is just a rumor? And if they were hacked into, wouldn't paypal pay one the money anyway because it would be their responsibility? Perhaps I'm just not familiar with the situation.

No I'm not scared - mine is pratically empty
I transfer it all to my sister in USA every time I reach a set amount ready for the day I can use it.
I have been using Paypal for at least 8 years now and Ihave never had any trouble with it at all. I have withdrawn and sent and received sums with it and never received any strange mails either. I have a Premier account - not sure if that is an added safety or not but I am perfectly happy with it.

I guess the ones that fall for those are ok really - once they get to cash in all the money they get from the inheritance mails they cover their losses

Yes, I am a bit worried. Apparently my account even got hacked in late March! But fortunately PayPal acted and limited my account to the point where about the only thing that could be done is DEPOSIT money and nothing else. I changed my password and updated my security questions earlier. I just need to input my cred card number (don't worry, apparently it really is PayPal wanting me to do this) to verify my location and remove the limitations.
Fortunately as far as I could tell nothing bad happened with my account. I didn't see any transactions that took place or anything that I did not do myself. I just hope it doesn't happen again.

I have been with papal for years and have never had a problem. The people that have been hacked into....did they open one of those bad e-mails that go around.and give the hackers their information. You have to be careful and not give the wrong people the chance to get into it.

I haven't yet experienced into being hacked with my paypal.
The best defense here is being aware of how much you put or you have in it.
The very simple task to secure your account, password etiquette.
Secondly, is where you log in you account be it in a public internet services or own personal PC.
Just remembering these two simple tasks would never let your accounts being hacked.
