Do You Remember . . .?

Do you remember your first encounter with the internet? My father-in-law left us a "state of the art" computer when he passed away in the 90's. We thought the internet was the next best thing since wrapped bread! All that information out there (including pop-up blockers - yuck), but anything you were looking for, you could find. Of course, the internet was in its infancy then and has come a long way, but I can still remember fondly our first encounter with the wonder of the internet! How about you?

Oh, I dont remember much of it. The earliest memory I could remember about the internet would be playing games with my cousin and our eldest cousin would be in those chatrooms chatting with random people internationally. Id always get a laugh at how my cousin would respond to them. They were always usually professing their love to her even if it was their first IM. Id never forget a line that she said to one of them. The guy asked my cousin if she would give him her heart. To which my cousin replied: "How about my liver instead?" LOL! That was classic for me.^_^

I remember it, though I was about 4 or 5 years old. That time, the internet was so slow, and there weren't fancy graphics yet. There wasn't any free webmail then, so my dad subscribes to paid email (Edsamail). Our computer that time was Windows 95 (it's still alive right now, but it has only 2 GB disk space and 16 MB RAM).

it is about 15 years a go. There is no exel and word software like time time. I use lotus programme to calculate jobs file and use wordstar to write anything. yes, it is under DOS and in this era it does not feel to dificult in that era, isn't it?

Yeah i do remember the old days. during that time, i frequently went to Cyber Cafe just to get acquainted with Mr 'Net'. I remembered the very first time i actually surf the Internet. What a shame. I actually don't know how to operate the computer, i mean, i don't know what to do, yeah i know Words, Wordstar, Dbase, Windows 3.11, but Internet was totally a new thing, a new experience. Then i was 'tour guided' by the worker at the cafe. He told me about E mails, about home pages, about Yahoo .... and most of all he told me about MIRC ... the best chatting program. hehehe ... and all that just using 14.4 kbps modem connection. hahahah .... what a sweet memory.....
