Desktop computers are still in use world over and they find a place in most of the homes as they are economical and easy to use, What about laptops have they replaced desktop completely, What do you own a laptop or desktop?

I prefer a laptop. I like the option of portability of my computer. I can take it on to my patio when it is hot. I really don't need much memory so getting a desktop wouldn't be the best option.

There are advantage/disadvantage using either laptop or PC, i basically like PC because i can easily upgrade all the specs there but the disadvantage i can't bring it everywhere. if you really asked me which one i really prefer. i would like to choose laptop with the newest specs in the market, so i dont need to upgrade it. for now i own both pc and laptop.

In my kind of work, the laptop would be the ideal thing. I conduct training and usually go to different places. It is for this reason that I invested on a laptop for my kind of work. It would be very inconvenient for me to travel to different places carrying a desktop. The only downside on a laptop is that you cannot easily upgrade them.

I have both. My laptop is good for just messing around; simple games, surfing the net, email, instant messaging- stuff like that. I like the mobility of the laptop but I'm afraid I'm going to drop it or something. Desktops seem more stable and safe to use. I use my desktop way more often but I love my laptop too. I don't think laptops will ever replace desktops unless battery life no longer becomes an issue.

Hey, I actually prefer laptops instead of desktops mainly because laptops you can take anywhere you want, but desktops are like glued to your desk and plus, they take up huge space on your desk comparing to a laptop. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

I own both a laptop and a desktop. Both have there advantages. Laptop is mobile and my desktop is powerful and fast. So I think I prefer my desktop.

I prefer the traditional desktop computer because of its durability and you could used for a long period of time. Compare with the laptop which its battery could only last for about few hours, and laptop are more expensive and you could not easily upgrade it parts.

I finally bought my first laptop this year. And so far, it has completely replaced my desktop. Mainly because of the portability...I don't like to be stuck in one place, especially on the computer. However, desktops are useful, and you can upgrade them better and easier than laptops. Desktops also tend to have more memory/HD space. That'll probably change soon, though, knowing how fast technology is improving. As for my preference, I have to go with laptop. Mostly for portability..

i prefer each one at different settings. for example, if i want to complete my assignment, i prefer taking my laptop out to a cafe to finish my work while enjoying the ambience of a cafe. however, when i want to watch a movie on my computer, i prefer using a laptop as the sound system is better and i can have all my snacks around me at home while i catch my show.

Certainly the answer about this, will depend of the why you need of the computer? If you need of a computer for a small business, certainly you'll choose a Notebook/Laptop. Other way, if you need build a small business as a data center, you'll need of a strong Desktop... How do you can see, the preference about each one depend of the use purposed.

well .. both have certain advantages over each other. the main aspect with the lappi is its mobility. it can be taken anywhere.. But you cant analyze if u get any problem with. its like a front end.. But in PC you can do so much R&Ds with it.. of coarse i do these stuffs and i have maintained it efficiently...

As per me...Laptops have replaced the Desktops, but whenever i discuss this subject with any of my friends and others i get a different response. they say Laptop and Desktop have their own places. Laptop is gud enough for all works but for playing GAMES. Not all games...but the Big games...means Graphics Rich games which requires special 3d card and a lot of graphics memory and stuff secondly for long shifts of work they prefer Desktop computer. but for guys like me, who want to relax and work for long hours...i dont mind taking my laptop to bed and do my work their, or on the living room couch. I would like to know what others have to say about this.

Hi Dhawan. I have both a laptop as well as a desktop. In my opinion both of them have their own advantages and disadvantages. The most important advantage that the desktop has over the laptop is "upgradability"...you can upgrade your desktop whenever there are new products available in the market and that too according to your budget. Also they are always faster that what you get from a laptop. I have recently seen a desktop PC with 2 TB HDD & 12GB DDR3 RAM. Thats massive configuration, and i am sure that laptops would need some time before they reach these kinds of configurations. The biggest advantage that i think the laptop has is "portability"....Even if your desktop is extremely reliable and upgradable as i said above, you still cannot put it in your bag and take it with you. Thats the only point i like the laptop for, else i can say that i am a desktop FAN
