Annoyed by these telemarketing calls? FTC shuts down auto warranty callers

A judge has just issued a restraining order against two companies that use these robo-dialer systems to sell auto warranties. If you have ever received any of these calls, they are very deceptive. They say things like "your auto warranty is about to expire" to get people to buy their products. But they are not from your auto warranty holder.
I keep getting these calls even though my number is in the Do Not Call Registry. According to the complaint filed by the Federal Trade Commission, these companies just ignore the Do Not Call registry, which is in violation of the law.
You can read the story at: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,520362,00.html
Have you received these calls, even when you are listed with the Do Not Call Registry? Worse, have you been a victim of these scam policies they sell?

I dont have a landline, so I am mostly protected from those types of phone calls.
Whenever I get an automated message, I hang up if it isnt a reminder. The only ones I listen to are confirming appointments! Other than that, I dont want to hear it. If they cant actually talk to me, they dont actually want my business!
I am glad that the government is doing something about those companies. It really is a shame how many people get scammed by them!
I wish there was more education available for people wanting to buy cars or homes. I think there should be classes offered by the community that is free for anyone to attend. That way you can ask questions and talk to professionals. I think it would really help a lot of people avoid bad situations.

I keep a landline JUST for these types of calls, and for people I don't want to talk to necessarily. That way I don't have to be so careful about screening my cell phone calls. But I don't like paying for the landline, and it bothers me that I have to have a nuisance line for annoying callers. I think everyone should report all telemarketing calls that sound like scams, the government needs those reports to investigate.

I think ALL telemarketing should be outlawed. There should also be really strict limits on calls from bill collectors as well.

I would prefer to receive no telemarketing calls and that's why I put my number on the Do Not Call Registry. It really annoys me when I get them anyway, and these calls have been coming in a lot, even thought they aren't supposed to.
I think debt collectors already skirt around the legal limits set for them by the Fair Debt Collection Act and they should get reported more often. They know that the people they are calling are going to be too flustered or scared to realize that the law is being broken and they won't get reported.
We have to report all instances where the law is infringed to get action on these annoying callers who break the law.
