I am still a bit confused on these Forever Stamps, lol, but I think that while the rate lasted, many people should have bought the stamps if they hadn't already. Luckily we don't mail that many things, my fiance and I don't have bills and the ones we do have in the future we will most likely try to go paperless on. In any case, Here's a link http://linkbee.com/StampsUp NOT A REFERRAL LINK, that explains all that you need to know about this rate increase and how it's affecting the postal service. Do you work for the post office or know someone who does?

My sister works for the postal service. I think so many people have gone paperless and so that is why there is a rate increase, got to make up the difference somewhere!

Yes I hadn't actually thought about that, so many people going paperless isn't doing anything for the post office. Has your sister noticed any change where she delivers mail?

Yeah, paying online has really been a down fall to the USPS .. i mean if someone has 15 payments per month to mail- that's 15 stamps at .41 cents or $14.50 a month. Times that by how ever many millions of people that have 15 payments per month and ... well you do the math... that is how much the USPS is loosing due to online banking and bill pay. Yet their expenses remain the same... can't blame them for raising postage.

yeah, I can't blame them either! I send out an e-newsletter periodically. I also mail a few each time as well. That number decreases quite a bit as people hook up on-line. I do still send thank you cards and such. I think there needs to be a reviving of the old fashioned letter as well!

Thanks for the link. I checked it out. I had forgotten about the postal increase. I wonder if my stamped envelopes are still valid. We got a big bunch of them when we moved.

FOrever Stamps are purchased at the current postage rate - but they are good indefinately no matter what the rate goes up to in the future. Buy them for 41¢ and if postage goes up to 59¢, those stamps are still valid... even tho you only paid 41¢ them. I bought a book of 20 Forever Stamps every time I went to the PO in the past few months at 41¢ per stamp... they will be good until the end of time no matter the postage at that time.... Granted we are only talking about pennies per year, but my reason for buying them is I might not have the money to pay full price sometime in the future so I will have these.
