Who's going to win?

Tonight is the finals for Dancing With The Stars. It's down to Shawn Johnson, Gilles Marini, and Melissa Rycroft.
Who are you voting for? Who would you like to see win?
I have to say Gilles is my favorite. He's cute and a great dancer. Shawn is a very close 2nd place in my opinion. Melissa is a good dancer, but she's had quite a few slip ups all season, always losing her footing. She even had a slip up tonight.
How do the stars rank in your opinion?

I don't care anymore. I think Ty Murray should have won. He is the only one there that is 100% out of his element, 100% knowing nothing about dancing or preforming and yet he worked and learned and did what most others couldn't do in the same situation. All the others have previous dancing or preforming experience to work with and draw on - dancing with a bull is not "experience" he could draw on so he was totally out of his world. .. yet stayed until the final 4.That in itself says something for the guy. He is what the show started out to be about, but they have taken to many that have previous related experience and teamed them up against a few that haven't and the few that haven't dont stand a chance. I'm sorry but to judge a contestant like him against some one that has dancing experience like say Melissa... Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, ballet dancer experience...it is like comparing apples and oranges... and totally unfair. But whatever... I enjoyed it while it lasted and won't be tuning in to night... could care less who wins as I dont' think any of the three left deserve it.. at least based on the predicated "theme" of the show.

If teaching someone to dance is not what the show is about - why does each star have a professional dancer teaching them how to do each dance and all the steps and things that go along with it? IF it isn't about teaching someone how to dance... why not have just the professional dancers dance against each other?

Sometimes we just have to keep an open mind. Things change, and we have to go with the flow. Ty was lucky to be on as long as he was. He had no dancing ability what so ever. The show is not called "Teaching stars who have zero experience how to dance". Ty could not have gotten any better than he did on his last episode, he had no musicality and that's not something you can teach!

I agree with coffeebreak. The show is totally based around the premise that the professional dancers teach stars who have little or no dance experience how to dance. It is only recently that stars who have been taught ballet or any other type of dance have been allowed to participate. The show allows the viewers to pick out which star they think has improved or done a good job that week - or at least that's how I see it. Unfortunately, over the years, the show has become anything but who is improving or doing well. It has become more of a popularity contest.
As far as who did the best tonight - Shawn takes it hands down. Yes, Gilles has danced well all season long but so has Shawn and her freestyle was definitely the best. I would love to see her take the trophy, although I believe it will be Gilles. As long as it's not "let the tears flow so people will vote for me" Melissa doesn't win, I will be happy.

I really thought Gilles was going to win it, though I voted for Shawn myself. I was so happy to see her win. I think I was a bit against Gilles because he was hooked up with Cheryl. How come she always gets good dancers? How come Edyta always gets bad ones? Who makes these decisions anyway? Mark was pretty happy too... and so was I.

I was just using Edyta as an example. We had two new former "So You Think You Can Dance" dancers on the show - Lacey and Chelsey. And they had a competition for another new dancer for next season. Why do you think that is? Are these professionals quitting and why? They may think there is favoritism and want out. JMO.

I can see your point, but part of it is in the teacher too you know. I don't think Edyta does very good dances. This whole past season with Lawrence he kept saying how he couldn't get into the dance routine and how the music just wasn't anything he could dance to. Now I don't know if Edyta picks the music or not, but you'd think she could have changed things up a bit to help him.
Cheryl doesn't always get good partners, she makes them good, look at how tough she is on them. Sure, she wouldn't have won with Woz, so I do see your point, but who's to say that had Gilles been with anyone else, that he would have made it as far as he did.
Speaking of which... has Karina ever had a good partner? She seems to constantly be dumped with those who don't get very far... oh wait, I'm forgetting about Mario Lopez, sorry. It's just that I'm remembering she was with Billy Ray Cyrus a few seasons ago and he was pretty bad.

Well I'm voting for Gilles to win. He has been the best all season plus he is nice to watch. I thought that Melissa had a strong start but has slipped up a bit but I still like her alot. As for Shawn she has been good but I think in my opinion she has been to stiff or mechanical at times. Which I think she got from her gymnatics.

I think Shawn is perhaps just too muscular. I am perplexed by the way her body looks, she appears to be fat but she's not, it's very strange, but I think that's the problem with her fluidity. I don't think she's capable of moving like a dancer just because of her muscles and the way she's built, which is due to her training for the olympics. I think she is doing the absolute best to her ability.. and in my opinion she's better than Melissa. You also have to keep in mind Shawn is only 17.

Ithink Gilles' is going to win. I know that's who I voted for. He's been fairly consistant through out the show. Though I was disappointed in his freestyle dance tonight. It's not his fault, I think Cheryl just didn't pick the right music and there's was more "tricks" then dancing.

I agree, I also didn't like his freestyle routine much. I was hoping it would be more like Shawn's was. But I didn't vote based on the Freestyle routine, I voted based on the entire season worth of dance.
