I'd rather listen to the oldies more than anything new nowadays. The singers back then had some real talent. The weird thing is that I seem to know more about oldies than my parents do and they grew up in the 60's. Oldies still hit it's just that many people don't listen to them now and I don't know why. Many people will make fun of you or tell you to turn that oldie off, kids these days :/....Oldies will live forever.

I was born in the late 60s yet I appreciate "older" music from the 1940s-50s (e.g., from Crosby to Sinatra, among others) although music from the 60s and 70s top my list. I also enjoyed listening to the 80s music through the 90s (and even some of the current crops of singers/performers).
Thus, music is a universal language and thus will persist in time and space. It never grows old, it just fades away only to get revived over and over again.

A lot of revival records are everywhere so I think the new generations can really appreciate old music.

I love the older stuff. I absolutely love David Bowie, and Queen. That of course is more the 70's-80's era rather than 50's-60's. I have several comps from various time periods. My favorite is probably my 60's comp. Though I like to think that the soulful, and calm styles are coming into styles are coming back in, I still don't like much of what's made today. Anything that I have come close to liking is the alternative rock of now. Besides I don't think it's a matter of age so much as taste. I know several people who are in their 30's-40's, and they listen to 'now' music, and like it better.
