I have found a way to rename recycle bin in windows xp . Here are the steps:- 1.Go to start and then run and type regedit and click OK. 2.Find HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\Microsoft\windows\current version\Explorer\CLSID\{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} folder. 3.Right click on the DEFAULT entry on the right side of the above folder and click on modify. 4.Enter any name that you want to in the space provided for value data and click on OK. 5.Close regedit and press F5 to see the change. Did it work for you? let me know .

I think you want to hide the recycle bin icon on your desktop and bring it back when you want. If it is so then see this link forums.techguy.org/tech-tips-tricks/579217-hide-recycle-bin-using-folder.html I hope this will help.

I have used this before, quite an interesting way. Though, we must be careful not to do it on any official system.
