the usual 3 day meal seemed to be really part of the system of most countries. if there's something I've learned from babies and toddlers is that they really said no if they're full. you can't really make them eat when they're not angry. this should be what adults do too. sad to say that we also have our in between snacks which add more for having so much intakes leading to obesity. do you usually follow the 3 meals in a day?

Hello! Truely speaking I don't accept this three meals a day norm.It will make me fat and idle and it is also wastage of food stuff.I consume foods at lunch and dinner and in the morning and evening I just take some drinks like tea or coffee or fruit juice. This is my food habit for the last seventy years and so far I am doing fine.thanx.

wow that's long enough! i wish i could do the same. even if i can only smell the food prepared by our neighbors, i tend to cook too for myself. i don't know but i really always wanted to eat. i can't say no to any food stuff.

Maybe I have become a baby again? If I am not hungry when the clock says it should be lunchtime then I don't eat. Sometimes I am involved in something which distracts me from the fact that it is mealtime (or should be mealtime) and I skip it completely. Then if I get hungry later on I just make a cup of green tea and don't eat until the next meal time. We do eat too much if we stick to three meals a day every day in my opinion so once in a while skipping a meal if we don't feel hungry does no harm rather than eating just because the clock says so or even out of habit.

yes im trying to do that too. but when i don't have something to do, hunger will really call me. i can't help but see if there are stuff to eat inside the fridge. i also often make juices which add more to my appetite of eating more snacks. i hope i can make a difference now.

I keep a lot of fruit available too for those times that a drink is not enough. I don't buy chips and biscuits so then I am not tempted to eat them.

Well, I normally do follow the pattern of Three Meals a day;except for some exceptional days when either I am ill;or I had rather heavier lunch or evening snacks . or when I am away on some tour and my natural timings have been disturbed .

well i think im the most exceptional one. i still have lots of appetite even if im ill and even if i'm on travel. i don't know but i don't remember a time when i lost my appetite. i demand good food that i can think of to my parents when im sick.

When I was a kid until I college I always eat three times a day full meal. But when I got independent and worked, I started to avoid eating heavy three times. I only eat two times heavy and the other meal was replaced by a snack. I was given free meal when I was working and that was given every night or breakfast. Now I started eating two again because my husband is trying to avoid too much rice and I follow him because we want to have a healthier diet. We replace it with snack either bread or fruits. Besides it is very hard to earn money nowadays to spend it all with food especially now that we have a baby who is formula fed.

For me i follow this three meals in a day, because it makes us strong and healthy, and it makes the brain function well, you need to eat not to be fat just a balance eating, and control your self not to eat to much watch your eating habit and ask your self do i eat healthy and wise, and choosing a food that suits to your condition.

i don't know how i can avoid that.even in my workplace there's no food shortage.there are people who will offer extra food too like snacks. i can't seem to avoid eating more really.

I personally do not. I eat when my body needs food, and only when my body needs food. Some health-nuts will scoff at that, but the fact of the matter is that we are not day-cycle bound. What ever put it into someone's mind that when the sun goes down it is time to sleep and that you must eat a certain amount per day? They retract and rewrite their warnings about milk enough to make the whole thing look fishy. A haiku I wrote: Cars Kill The Planet Medicine Is Killing Kids Dress them in ribbons. If you eat three meals a day and then start eating two meals a day, it will affect you. Once you are used to eating 2 meals a day, going back to 3 will hurt you as well. We live on this world following many misguided practices. Sleep is just like a muscle. If you stay up too long, you will hurt your body or die. If you work out to much, you will hurt your body or die. If you work out and slowly increase it, you can work out more and more and not die as you would have in the prior states of your being. Same is true about sleep; there are allegedly people who have not slept in years because they stayed up just a little bit longer each time they woke up. The world record for not sleeping at all is something like 20+ years. Just start googling it, it's someone in Asia.

Same here, its usually 3 meals a day in our place. But I do not usually take 3 meals a day since I really do not like to eat breakfast. I only take lunch and dinner. I know that its not good but what can I do, I seem to have no appetite in the morning. Well, I have survived and have been well. Perhaps its just a matter of adjusting our system.

Since being a child I've only eaten one way. Little and often. I don't have set meal times. I only eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full regardless of what's left on the plate. The one meal I always eat is breakfast. Even then it's not at a set time but just whatever time I get up. I snack most of the time and I eat whatever I feel like. No such thing as good or bad foods in my life. A chocolate bar one snack, a raw carrot the next, lol. I'm only small and have a small stomach so can't eat a great deal at one sitting so I would say I just sort of got into the habit of eating like this. Since becoming an adult, I've always been around the 100lb (7st 2lb) mark with just pregnancy or illness causing significant loss or gain, and thats over a period of 40 years. As part of my job I studied nutrition and it didn't surprise me to learn that how I eat is the healthiest way. It's the natural way as with the babies you mention. Sadly for many in society the way school and work is set up, the regimented meal time has to be the norm.

The safest answer would be a no because i technically dont. I could maybe be safe with a yes too though. Since i have been out of school I havent been eating a regular three times a day. I work from home so my food is always there with me whenever I feel like eating something. When on the other hand, in school i have a breakfast, lunch, and dinner because that is the way the cafeteria works. Lately though, I have been partaking in fourth meal ( its the one between dinner and breakfast) because I have been staying up a little later than I would normally like.

I generally do not follow the "three meals a day" rule. I try like you said to not eat if I am not hungry. I also try to eat 6 smaller meals each day rather than only three large meals. I feel much better and it is easier to maintain my weight.

i find it inconvenient having 6 meals in a row. sometimes i take drinks only in between major meals. i prefer drinks with high fiber.oatmeal also helps.

I used to follow three meals everyday , however, since I entered my university, I kind of have blown the good habit. When I don't have classes in the morning, I usually get up quite late, around 10 or 11 a.m. ,which means there is no need to eat breakfast at all. Besides, when I am class-free, I often stay in the dormitory and sometimes have some snacks. In afraid of gaining weight, on these occations,I often spare my meal to control the calories I intake.

yes, always have a 3 meals per day and I avoid snacks as it may result to different diseases in the future like failure of kidney, high cholesterol and many to mention. I don't have a diet though but I try to maintain 3 meals a day. I eat full in breakfast and little in lunch and at dinner.

Yup I follow the 3 meals per day. Because if not I go crazy when skip a meal. I usually becomes weak if that happens. Because when I was still young we always eat 3 meals a day together with my family.

I follow the normal three meals. It seems to become my unchangable habit. I must have three meals. if I lose any meal, I will feel hungry and ill. After the normal meals, i seldom have other snacks, because most of time I am not hungry. but sometimes I will eat some fruits because they are good to one's health. Nowadays I form a habit, when it comes to the time to have meals, my stomache will tell me that I should fill it up. That is my biological clock. Of course, if I eat snacks too much, I will not feel hungry. A day' food amount is limited and fixed. As long as you take so much food, you will not feel hungry. Sometimes, the allocation of time for consuming food is decided by yourself.
