Why did you choose the Internet?

I have noticed that a lot of people on myLot have turned to the internet to make some extra money. I must admit, that I am doing the same myself! It is something that I realized recently. I can make money while doing things I enjoy on the internet! What a great opportunity! My husband and I want to have kids in a couple of years. I want to be able to stay home with them. With our finances and income the way it is right now, that isnt possible. Something has to change! So I am hoping that I will be able to build up my online income in the coming months and years. That way when we do have kids, I will be making enough online to be able to stay home without worry! Why did you start trying to earn money online? Do you have a goal for your online earnings? How did you first get started?

I not only use internet for making some extra money, I also use it for collecting information that I need. But yes majority of time I spend on internet is for earning some extra money. I have started only one and half month ago. I think its take couple of months, may be a year or more to build steady and good income from the internet. I thing everybody who has an internet connection should try to earn something from it. Because at least you can free your internet connection charges by giving some time in it. Its not at all a bad deal. There are lots of house wives who do not do any thing I thing its a very good business for them. They can earn and have the comfort of home at the same time. Again there is no duty hours. You can easily look after your child and continue doing this. I must appreciate your thoughts that you have the passion for doing something different.

Personally for me I just got sick of making other people richer by working for them and then having to put up with how they treat employees. I got to the point where I swore I would never work for another employeer. That is when I quit my day job and started working from home. Now I couldn't see doing anything else.

Hi derlilaStern! I started making money online for the same reason you want to. I have a 4mnth old girl and I want me and my husband to be able to dedicate our time to her and any other kids we may have. Plus the other perks getting to stay at home, choosing your hours, working in your pj's, NO BOSS, becoming independate, avoiding rush hour, doesnt sound too bad either lol. Hope you find what youre looking for and please let me know if you find a great site. Happy MyLotting!

Unfortunately, I became disabled due to illness. Since I am unable to work outside the home, I decided to give the internet a try. I know quite a few that that have made it work well for them. There is an excellent non profit organization online that is designed to help the disabled learn to make a living online. I got lots of help through them. I actually learned how to set up an eBay business and how to create my own auction templates. That lead me into learning some graphic design, HTML, CSS and some Javascript on my own. I'm now in the progress of learning some programming. Would like to set up a web design business, but I'm very nervous about it. Can't take a lot of stress. Guess I've got to get my act together! It's really important now since my DH is having difficulty finding work due to the economic issues. One thing I did learn though. When you see offers to make fantastic amounts of money online in just a few hours a week, be wary! If it sounds too good to be true, it is. Also, be wary of any offer that requires a large amount of $$ up front. There are legitimate ways to do it without spending. I'm new at this, but I'm hoping this is one of them! Hope you're having a wonderful day!

Thanks for the warnings. I am always amazed that people are willing to put out so much money in hopes of getting rich quick! I have discovered in my short life that there is no guaranteed way to get rich quick! Some people can get lucky - like winning the lottery. But everything else takes time and effort! I havent actually been with myLot for a full month yet. I have just been really active. Someone I know and trust referred me here. It wont make you tons of money, but every little bit helps! Good luck with your web design business!

when i first use the internet way back in 1992 or 93, it was not for money making but it was for fun as this was new to me and i was very curious to use it.i tried to visit each and every kind of site in the start and it was very costly using internet in those days and i was using my parents money to pay the bill but now as i am a married man, i have some responsibilities over the shoulder and want to earn little bit more so i thought of earning online but initially i was disappointed as i met with some scammed site but now i feel that there are many sites helping us to find out the one before joining...now, there are many thing we can do online and i didn't chosen the internet for money making but for other tasks as well, money making over the net is my part time job....

I was a person who would not have minded working for someone else, but since I discovered I could make money online, that changed. What I would like now, is to work for myself and earn enough money online to live a relaxed life. Not having to wake up to an alarm clock, able to choose when to work, and for how long, sounds like it will be great things. I wish I has started doing this a few years earlier. I got started trying to earn money online with Global Domains International (GDI), but left it after joining CashCrate.

I chose making money as a way to cope with my depression induced by living in a small town (ha there's less than 1000 people here). It's a hobby now. I chose the internet because there was nothing local to do. I'm not sure what got me started, but there's no stopping me now!
