Memorial Day Weekend coming up............

Most people will have a long weekend coming up, so does anyone have any special plans for Memorial Day weekend? I'll be heading down to the Outer Banks for 3 1/2 days, with my daughter, her best friend and her best friend's fiance. My son-in-law couldn't go, so I was invited. They rented a house right on the beach. We're just all hoping the weather cooperates! lol Not everyone gets the long weekend off, while we're enjoying the beach my son-in-law will be on funeral honors, he's in the Army. And my fiance will be sitting around the fire station waiting for the tones to sound. So there are those that won't get to enjoy the long weekend. What do you have planned, or will you be working?

Yep it is part of the package. I was with a volunteer dept for 9 years, and have worked the past 3 years with the forestry, wildland firefighter. Although we were given the day off, we were on-call. lol

Well maybe you will have a nice relaxing weekend anyway. I understand the having to work. My fiance will be standing by at his fire station, hoping for a quiet weekend. lol And not sure but he might have to work his other job Monday, EMS.

My kids and I purchased a camper and we will be spending the weekend up there...its on a permanent spot at a campgrounds by a lake. My sister and her husband will be joining us....the guys will fish up a storm and us girls have to explore the area? Oh...it's called shopping or retail therapy! LOL

Sounds like a great weekend planned. And yes, us girls will be doing some 'exploring' ourselves, when we're not laid out on the beach.

here in canada, we just had a long weekend. we didnt do anything really special like go away. saturday we did a bunch of errands and had company, sunday we went to my brother in laws for a bbq and monday we spent cleaning the house, but went out for a walk on the beach and out for ice cream. it was nice and we even saw some random fire works!

Sounds like you had a good weekend, and being able to bbq is good any weekend lol
