i am dissapointed about the new government in india. i hate congress as this party has ruled the longest but has done nothing substantial for the country. the development of country under this party goes at snails pace. its only concern is to retain the vote bank and create new one. the low turnout of voters as well as the wrong timing of elections is the reason for this government returning to power. i dont expect much from them in next five years.

Hi, Well i think congress is better than BJP. Some one wrote correctly that BJP is a party which wants to divide and rule. And the user has given right examples too. Here in mUmbai BJP was supported with shiv sena and newly formed MNS which also believes in divind and rule and that was one of the major reaso ny they lost in such a big margin in Maharashtra. Peopl are not fool to understand that they make such big statements in media so that they can grab some attention and disturn the unity of indians. With these government we can dream of becoming the next super power. There r going to be obstructions but if we have the will, the desire to bes best then no one can stop us. Go India! Cheers, Tutul

lol.i may have not said it aloud but election means only one thing to people like me. everybody, from politicians to movie stars to social workers as the public to vote compulsorily but why would people like me want to vote and choose either a 67% corrupt government or 70% corrupt government? thats y i felt its way better not to vote at all. besides elections were never conducted fairly in my state, even during this election.even my dad and mom noticed that when they press one button, the light goes on for the ruling party symbol.why bother vote then? sorry just letting out my frustration.

The best thing about the new government will be its stability. This should give reforms a push, which were laying dormant because of the allies of the dlast government. The government has started making noises in this direction. As for your argument, I think the government can only be a facilitater of development. Its job is to create a just and fair society with good internal security. 'Development" is a very complicated process, more so in a huge country like India. I'm sure you will agree with me if were to say India is better off today than it was at the time of independence. I do not wish to outrightly praise the Congress, much is left to be desired of it. And, we should make the goverment more accountable by voicing our opinions. All said and done, if one were to do a more detailed study of India since Independence it has come a long way.

Well earlier congress and nowadays congress has lots of differences, it is better than those parties which are creating riots in the name of religion and even they were given chance to rule, they cannot unite themselves then how they can rule the country.

I am not very happy either coz I am not at all fond of the Congress Party. I know exactly what you mean, the Congress has been ruling India for most of our 60yrs of independence, but the country has sadly lagged behind, progress has always been sacrificed at the altar or populism. However, one good thing definitely is the stable govt at the centre, we really don’t want another election before 5 yrs. Secondly, though the Congress is in power, it is not in the control of the biological Nehru-Gandhi family. Sonia is a Gandhi by marriage, so she has her own ideologies and principles which are refreshingly different from the other members of this family, starting from Nehru. Her children, Rahul and Priyanka are also not haggling after power right now…they are ready to wait and learn. Thirdly, Manmohan Singh is definitely emerging as one of our best PMs…I am excited to see what he can achieve in this second term, now that threatening allies are no longer there to bother him over every issue.

the gandhi and children may not be after power (though they are by remote control) there are many in congress who want only power or for that matter money. congress does not do anything about the two important problems (TWO LARGE P'S) POPULATION & POVERTY

When you go deep into any issues on which the INC takes pride you will find that they have done nothing absolutely nothing. But who will teach the Indian who are too much emotional. We can not dream about democracy with the INC in view. Though, I am a little satisfied that the INC has got only 783 votes from my constituency against more than one lack vote of BJP......hope the wisdom will prevail one day....
