I'm neither a Lasallite nor an Ateneian but if I'd get to choose from either of the two then I guess I'd choose Ateneo. I think it's mainly because their campus is geographically more appealing than that of Lasalle's. I can't say much about their quality of education but I've heard that Ateneo has surpassed UP based on an international survey.

i see,...thanks,.. mm..currently,.. admu was in the top 200 universities in the world,... and dlsu was in the 400+ together with the ust... i am not sure about up-diliman though... hehe. ..,i red an article before that,.. ateneo is in for quality than quantity,.. (i mean the population of the students...),..while lasalle was the school which was quite easier to enter...mm??? though i am not also sure., i am just sharing my stock knowledge which i red on opinions of other people from the net... "but,..as a lasallian,...i want to impose that lasalle has a great quality of education.///^^"

It is just a basketball rivalry... In terms of other aspects competition varies.

Well, I plan to attend Ateneo next year (after I graduate from high school). and I can say that I am already an Atenean by heart. LOL. I see that you're a Lasallista...peace^^ Well, I don't think that the 2 universities are just schools for the rich and so on...well, I think they maybe but they should not be classified as that, only. Well, about the rivalry, I think it really came from the basketball hard court face off...*smiles*

ya..well that was only a connotation among common people,..that ateneo and lasalle are schools of rich kids,...mm??? but the truth is that not all the students and faculties of both schools are rich,..me myself wasn't rich..hehe,..../ well,..i think aside from basketball...go maierhoffer! go atkins! hehe..weh., is the fact that both schools are doing great scholastically,... hmm..hehe,.... but not counting own the tigers and the maroons and etc,.... maybe this rivalry exist since both schools has this competing identities between themselves that spark up for this rivalry.... well. xroadempress,.. goodluck to your college life,..ok?? u take care..

Thanks! And I totally agree. I also thought that the rivalry makes the two schools even more famous and more controversial. Nevertheless, they're never the reason why I wanted to attend such universities.

I think the rivalry now is not like how it was during the time of my parents. I think the rivalry between La Salle and Ateneo is just inside the basketball court :) I have friends from Ateneo and we're nothing but the best of friends.

mm...well,.. i think both schools are having a ceasefire neh?? hehe.. wow...but even as to now,.. seeing a lasalista with an atenista was still an eye candy//hehe...mm,..even chris tiu,..see his commercial in the abs-cbn??? mm...i think,...nowadays,..you are right,..the rivalry was focused inside the court..maybe that was the easiest way to see this rivalry since it was held in such a venue and it was televised in the media.//^^

I've heard the stories of my parents and uncles, whatever rivalry is shown on TV, that's really a healthy kind of rivalry. It's nothing compared to things that the students have done at the super peak of this so-called rivalry.

i had studied in La Salle Dasma, and yes the greatest rival/nemesis of my Alma Mater is Ateneo most especially in the UAAP games. but i think the rivalry is a bit over rated. Tuition had gone up, i don't know if the rivalry between teams in the UAAP takes an affect on that? my fiance's cousin is an Atenista while i am a Lasalista LOL!, just think of something when the two of us meet hahaha
