How many steps do you walk each day?

Maybe you have heard the recent guidelines about walking 10,000 steps per day. How far is 10,000 steps anyway? The person's stride length is approximately 2.5 feet long. That means it takes just over 2,000 steps to walk one mile, and 10,000 steps is close to 5 miles.. They say walking 1,000 steps a day is good for your health but do you think you do this everyday?

Back then I always walking when I was going to school to save money. Right now I seldom walk I prefer to exercise at home than walking outside. Our place is so dangerous if you walk early in the morning or at night. I don't want to walk alone so right now I prefer to use jumping ropes to substitute walking. It is hot outside to walk.

I agree that it's very dangerous going outside early in the morning to have a jogging.. I think it's not a tradition here in the Philippines because we have a very hot season.. There aren't many good places to visit here in our place during the night that's why I stay home during summer vacations.

i have been keeping walk with hubby after supper a few years,it is not only good for health but also give us a little time to talk about what happend today for each other or share everyting interesting ,i enjoy the walk time very much.

After supper? I don't like going outside during the night.. There are many stray dogs around and sometimes if a dog barks then all of the dogs here will bark.. hehe thank you for responding! happy myLotting! ^_^

I've heard about this and I doubt I'm able to do it. LOL! I want to but I dont think I'm consistent. Walking is great but it is just so hot here in the Philippines, I'm prone to faint anytime. LOL!

Yes it's really hot in here! i don't feel walking outside pass 10am.. I'd rather stay here at home and do some exercise which can also help burn calories like push ups and pull ups..

I don;t count but I do work out, and I do love to walk alot. It is good to stay fit and burn extra calories.

Im sure I dont do it everyday. As much as I love walking I dont have the need to go to places that are near enough for me to walk. They're usually far away that Id need the service of a public transport vehicle. Though whenever I had errands to run, as in literally 'run' then I guess those would be the times that I do get at least 10,000 steps a day. Ive always wanted a pedometer so I can really measure at least how many steps I make in a day. Its just a whim and just for fun but still it can be a good motivation to walk more and be a bit healthy, dont you think?^_^
