Family, wife, whatever...

I just posted a new discussion that was supposed to go in the family section. I typed it all out and left it because I had to collect my daughter from school. When I returned I went back to it, spell checked it and hit 'submit'. When it appeared on MyLot it was in the section titled "wife"??? I am powerless to change it and I am baffled as to how that would have happened. (????) Can't undo it, just letting everyone know that I am not completely insane posting a family discussion in the 'wife' section. Would anyone know whether MyLot can fix that?

I have not noticed it and I am a good user so, you can be sure that not many will notice it! You are excused. Am I allowed to laugh?

Looks like you haven't had permission to laugh yet but I am going to laugh at you without asking...

Hi Paula, You are not the only one who got into the wrong section. Yesterday I submitted a discussion for which I was sure I had selected "people". It came out under "fruit"! So far I have had 27 responses so it seems that in some ways a wrong section is not a problem.

People, fruit, whatever...!(LOL) I guess it's not that big a deal after all and I am so glad it's happened to someone else as well! Thanks Colmuc, Diana and Alice! Appreciate your visits!

Funnily enough the first person who responded to my discussion was mysdianait just like on yours. You are also getting many responses.

Don't you just hate when this happens. And then the problem is wishing it could be changed, fixed or sometimes even deleted. I wish many times we could go in and edit and change our discussions around if we wish. But unfortunately this is something that never happens.

No it is not. I wish we had a minute or so at least to make necessary changes to our posts! It's happened to me several times...Hit submit only to discover an obvious error! It happens to all of us I guess....Thanks for being here....

Hi paula! The ghost is at it again? I don't think they can do that sort of thing but I did go and bump the 'family' tag so it now appears first and the 'similar discussions' to the right of it will be those with that tag. Hope that can help a bit

Okay Diana, thanks for your help and forgive me if I appear dense but how did you "bump" the 'family' tag? You can laugh at me later if you like but I don't get it...

I went to your discussion and saw the tags that you have added. I saw 'family' and it was third from left in the list. So I added it too and now (then not sure now) it appears first in the list therefore it will appear on the right in the 'similar discussions' column --- when other discussions which are tagged as 'family' are being read. Hope that is clear (sometimes I ramble and get lost )

Yes this is a great site to learn about others and their cultures, and then just some thing you'd forgotten, hadn't thought of in that way, or are just learning!

I could do that, but I may just not worry too much about it at this time; if it were to happen again I certainly would contact admin, thanks for taking the time to respond samirkavade!

I have done that many times, of course by mistake. I do not think we can change it. But doesn't matter. We will read and enjoy it anyway. I better go and check that one. Stay fine.

Hi mimpi, I'm not that worried about it, I just got a bit confused because I didn't pick that particular topic, I chose 'family' but left it a while before posting, no biggie! Thanks for stopping by!

I just responded to that, and I wondered why it was under "Wife." Now I know!

Does that matter much? I have done that countless times with my full knowledge as I can't pick the right interest to place my discussion. I just blindly pick one that is near to the meaning of my post. Like relationship, and there is love and both can be applied so I choose love as it is more catchy. Yours can be a blessing in disguise as people are confused and end up responding. But they can tag their responses to fit in the right category. I don't know if mylot can fix that.

You are right it can be tough choosing the right place lot of the time. It's probably not that big a deal because I hardly ever take notice of the section discussions are in anyway; I was just a bit puzzled, anyway thanks for your comments, I feel better about it now!

its all ok friend....i had also lately done some posting mistake, which i discussed with you all. It happens many times here, and i think very few people see the topic under which you started it, only those coming interest wise to respond, may notice it...so your mistake or mylot mistake....anything it may be...its ok for me...

Don't worry all of these sections are interpreted in the broadest fashion. As long as it got on it's ok, you may not touch the same responses as you would have in the family sections.

I don't feel all that bad about it, it's just weird that's all; I think I'll leave it where it is, I've had a few responses so I won't concern myself about it, thanks for being here ronny!
