do you prefer a partition on your hard disk drive? i don't prefer that even tho i am an advance user. partitions should be for done for a very legit reason. many would create partition for a whole lot of reason which are very useless. every partition takes up a chunk of the hdd. its your choice to select if you want a partition but my opinion is that you should not create partitions. what's your opinion?

Yeah i do agree with locolou. Each person have their own reason and most of it is for security purpose and other thing is for hardisk management. Nowadays, with many viruses coming around which always attack directly our operating system, it's a good idea to do partition to store importants file or maybe the files that we don't want to lose when format the PC.

The reason for do a partition is for security, not for pleasure. The most common use for it it's for make backups or keep important data. On drive "C:", usually people have the operating system, and keep the pics, documents, etc. on other partition or hard disk (external or internal). If the system fails, you only need reinstall the C: and not lose any important data. It's one of the reasons.
