I didnt realize there was a differnce. Just had it brought up in another discussion. I guess I'm not make-up savvy for a 41 year old but your never to old to learn.

I never looked very deeply into it either, my friend, but I would imagine that in the mineral makeup, they use minerals and spa water, but in the regular make up, industrial. I've used make up all my adult life and I've never had any real adverse effect from either, so I guess it's just like organic and non-organic. It doesn't bother me... I shall continue buying the products I'm used to and which I like! Brightest Blessings.

Thank you jmow. I've learned something new about mineral make-up today, from your knowledge bank, which is quite interesting. Brightest Blessings.

In the minerals they don't usually use any water--the product is dry, and you apply it with a brush. You can get loose minerals, which are what you want, or pressed minerals which don't seem to work as well. The advantage is they don't clog your pores, so you aren't as likely to break out from this makeup.

Mineral makeup can use for all skin types even the sensitive skin. But for the dry skin, you better put a lot of moisturizer before mineral makeup as mineral makeup consists of powder... In liquid makeup, it is best to use it to cover blemishes, wrinkles, stay longer, even skin tone. Usually middle aged people and above use this because the liquid makeup tends to be thick when apply. That's my opinion... The problem with the liquid makeup, sometimes it is not waterproof, it tends to be watery when sweat or bubbles... that's my experience. I am not sure of others.

i know i have used liquid make up and then powder. the powder keeps sweat from forming as well as keeping make up even toned. you would have to use both. is mineral make up only liquid? hum

They sell "liquid mineral makeup" but mineral makeup is usually loose powders. Be careful with it--you only need a little tiny bit. Have you ever used "translucent powder" or "loose powder" over your foundation? If you have, you know how to apply it--take the container it comes in, turn it upside down then back over again, take the lid off, dip your brush in the powder inside the lid and apply it to your face. (Or you can sprinkle a little bit on a paper towel and pick that powder up with your brush.) If you do that with minerals you'll have about twice as much makeup on your face as you want, and you'll look really heavily made up. A pile about the size of a dime is all the mineral makeup you need.

liquid makeup is liquid makeup. last i read about the minerals being added to makeup it was said that it was fairly new (that was about 2004) and many who are sensitive skinned may experience a problem with it. but it was said then that big companies are taking interest so there would be a refinement for makeup with this special concoction. in short, liquid makeup may not necessarily have minerals added to them whereas any product: powder, solid as in a bar of soap or liquid may have minerals added to them. they always boast of this special addition so you'd know at once if a product has added minerals.
