hi,youless! i seldom find a safe in a hotel room, or maybe there is one but i don't notice it..well, its really very useful tips for travellers. usually i will always take the expensive stuffs with me when going out. so its nice to put them in a safe, if only we remember to take them back when checking out. have a nice day and happy mylotting!

It's really a great idea to share with us here youless Yeah, to put something in the safe of the hotel room which we must use before leaving the room. I believe the said guide has come across lots of forgetful customers during his period of service as a hotel guide. So he finally found such a good idea to help the customers. Althought i don't really use the safe in the hotel room when we travel... your suggestion is quite useful for me in the future... since i will be travelling with my daughter next year to Kota Kinabalu... i just hope i won't forget this tip... since the trip will be in April... like a year from today...

Hi Youless, A good idea, especially for laundry. In addition to the tips: First, put the goods in groups. Second, check each room before leaving.

I found many hotels have been prepared the safes for customers. Of couses, they are mostly belong to four stars hotel. The safe has a original password, such as 00000000 or 88888888. You can put your stuff in it and reset the password of your own. If you forget to bring your stuff out when you check out, the hotel's waiter will remind you to bing your stuff which locked in the safe. If you don't open the safe the hotel can't open it too. lol...

That is a great idea but usually the safes in the hotels/ships/etc... that I stay on are too small for that. I usually leave my keys... therefore I can't go anywhere even if I did forget to empty the safe. Great idea. Thanks Zelo

I usually stay in guest houses and sometimes in unusual accommodation like beach huts or tree houses. Sometimes there is a safe that is behind reception. In youth hostels lockers are often available in the dorm. I think that putting a shoe in the safe will mean you never forget your precious things when you check out. That's a really good idea! Wow! I learned something new today. I would be the person who forgot her stuff in the safe. Just this past month, when we were moving, we had to stay in a hotel room for one day. We brought important stuff into the hotel room; no safe. Just set it up on the dresser. Just the camcorder and such. I got so nervous just around check out time cause I didn't want to leave anything. I looked under the beds and everything. Almost ended up leaving one of my cats, cause he climbed up under the bed and crawled inside! LOL! Just kidding. He's my baby. Would never leave him. Mama cry big time if she lost her little man.

I used to travel all the time and I've never heard of a suggestion like this. It's a good one, though. Did the kids enjoy the trip? How did they make out during the delay? I hope youall found something to do during that time. I just hope youall had a good time altogether. Kathy.

Hi Youless, One other tips. Never bring something important with you when you are outside and traveling. lol.Just kidding, there are some important things that you can tell with you. I think the best way is to leave them in the place that you can see if when you leave. Or leave a note on the screen of the TV with some code word to remind yourself.
