Hi Carzyacer, In China, most of the time, we shake hands with our friends, classmates, strangers, just call their name or say hello. To close friends, we give them a hug and say "hi, dear!". I can choose the way that you feel comfortable with. That will help you to be easy and help others too.

If I am meeting my family then I will say "hello everyone" for my boyfriend i will say "Hello my baby" Or "Hello Petit Prince" which means little prince in English. I often greet them with kiss on the cheeks. And when I am in the office then I will be very formal and shake hands.
