I just deleted my Facebook and everyone wants to know why? Well first of all I never had an interest in joining Facebook, then about 2 months ago my cousin called me and was telling me or rather practically begging me to join. Her reason was that she joined and she found so many people we all went to junior highschool etc.. Well she begged for 2 weeks and I did. It was cute at first but I just felt like the only ones I spoke to on Facebook were the same people I speak to on regular basis. Yes I found some people from the past, junior highschool and highschool, said hey, hows life, kids are cute, you live were? wow great, same was asked to me and That Was It! So I just felt like this and please tell me if Im wrong cause my cousin seems to think Im mean and rude, I say its nice to see people and thier children and how everyone is doing great, BUT if I havent spoke to you in 20 years or so I dont think I need to speak to you now. Because after the first 2 times of back and forth and seeing how life is theres nothing Left!!! I told my cousin I perfectly happy with the people in my life now and the ones I kept close with and meeting new people obviously it wasnt that serious of a relationship if 20 yrs has gone by and we never spoke. Is it me? How do you find Facebook?

You have not done the wrong thing. I will cancel mine too but just don't bother because I never log on anyway and I am busy with other things. FB is boring anyway. There are also many people who look up old lovers and then bad things come from it, even devorce. I don't blame FB for the bad things, I blame the people without self control. But FB does open that door and is tempting and dangerous. Thanks for reminding me to cancel...

I too had mates pester me to sign up for face book. After two years I gave in and signed up. After two minutes I got so bored and wondered what the fuss was all about. Thanks for reminder, I'm off to hit that delete button! By the way, don't let your cousin get to you.. if she hates the idea that you aren't interested in FB then too bad.. you cant always please everybody

hehe...whenever i discover people from my school life, the most conversation we have is "Hey how are you..I am fine..where are you...I am in so and so..How's life..Its good.. .. .. .. ..(minutes of uncomfortable silence) I gotta go...see ya around " And then we rarely speak...She/He is in my friends list and dadah. Its back to normal.

I found facebook ok for a few months then found that people stop talking and you get random people adding you. I deleted mine a few months ago or i thought i did then i wen to check it and i was able to sign back in. Just so you know when you delete it then send you a email and there is a link there about permanently deleting the facebook account. If you want add me as a friend and i will send it to you if i can find it. Otherwise if you dont do it that way your account is still active .

I totally agree with you. Facebook is really nothing. Kind of boring after a while. Only reason I still have my account is to keep in touch with a friend of mine who is always on there, cause she doesn't check her email as much as she checks her facebook. So I still have it, I became friends with half the people I went to school with back in the day, didn't talk to them then, not talking to them now. I log on talk to my one friend, then log right off. I find mylot a lot more interesting than facebook.

I think you might have a point there. I was skeptical about FB at first too, and I still am. But I'm enjoying the games there so much that I don't think I'll delete it. I have Friendster too, which is like so yesterday and I'm not logging in anymore. But I normally don't delete accounts unless there are really bad experiences. Facebook friends tend to become 'quiet' after some time, I do agree. It's not like in mylot where everyone comes and discuss.

I love Facebook. I have over 500 friends on there, all of which I speak to on a fairly regular basis. I have many different groups of friends though, from high school, college, university, band, family, friends from work, friends from where I live.. And I use Facebook to keep in contact with them! If Facebook was getting a little boring for me, I would just not log on, I don't think I'd ever actually delete it, because it's quite nice to have people being able to speak to you if they need to, and it's nice to see people from the past as well, even if you only exchange a couple of words with them.

Hi, Nadia I have a Facebook accout I seldom use. I only joined because a friend of mine asked me to join so that she could add me as friend. After several weeks, I finally joined. And after several weeks, I was asking other friends to join FB so that I would have more friends! Crazy! Anyway, all in all, I got 3 friends there. The friends who convinced me to join (who never logs in anymore), my sister-in-law and another friend from another city (who does not have to check her account too). In short, I do not like FB either. It's boring and there are so many things written there I could not understand. I like Friendster better. I mean, you just upload photos, look at your friends' photos and send and receive messages and comments. Simple, nothing too ambitious, and more friends to see. Have a nice day!

I think that there is nothing wrong with "moving on" in life, because those old friends have gone their own ways and you've went your own. Facebook is really precisely for that - finding old friends, and keeping in touch with people you know when, say - they are on holiday. Facebook also connects you with friends of your friends, which may increase your friendship circle. If I was you, I would have kept your Facebook instead of deleting it, because there might be some people you knew before that joined in the future, and they might find you.

I join Facebook because my friends ask me to and I want to spend my spare time as well because I no longer attach to 9 to 5 work activity. I guess Facebook allows me to keep contact with my old friends from junior and senior high school, college and past work friends. They even arrange for reunion from facebook recently. But overall, I consider myself a mild user.

I totally understand how you feel! My mother in law introduced me to it, I'm like, okay great, I get to chat with my MIL! (NOT)! Then I started talking to others that I know and they were excited about it too. They love to play all the silly quizs'... I just don't care and don't have the time. I don't really reply when I am included in things and that may make me look crabby, but again, I'm busy..lol I sometimes say hi to MIL, but ususally don't partiscipate.

I love Facebook because I can keep in touch with my old schoolmates, teachers, colleagues and childhood friends. I don't approve easily in Facebook. I only approve friend request from those I've known. If I don't know that person and i accidentally add him/her as a friend I would delete him/her from my friend list unless he/she really wanna be friends with me. It is easier to keep in touch with friends as Facebook can suggest people that I might know. All I have to do is add that person as a friend. I had a Friendster account but there were a lot of people I don't now adding me as ther friends and after that their just 'vanish'. So I deleted that account and made a new one nad add only those who are really wanna be friends with me

i had the exact same thing happen to me and i responded by telling people that the people who are currently in my life are the ones i'm happy with and there's a reason that they're still here and the others are not...

I love facebook, much more useful than myspace. Easy to use, fun. Besides, I have more friends that are using facebook.
