This is a office program that is a free edition of microsoft office. It has math which is supposed to be like excel. It has slowed my computer down . And when you open up the math program it doesn't start in the spreadsheet and I can't get the spreadsheet screen to open just to see what it looks like.
has anyone else had problems with this program. I can't afford microsoft office right now. Also, does anyone know of another free program or low cost program, even if it only has a word processing program. I have already tried abi word. That was OK.

As part of a comparison exercise I do occasionally use OpenOffice with Windows. There was no sluggishness. Inn fact I used StarOffice before OpenOFfice.
Have you tried SSuite? I have not actually used it though I had it installed but it did receive good reviews. IF I am not mistaken there are also others still in existence. Just do a search on 'office suite' or similar keywords. Many are trials or demos but there are quite a few freewares. This include Lotus Symphony.
Usually I use freewarefiles.com and softpedia.com though I know there areother sites.
all the best,

I actually have Open Office and have used it for quite a while. It comes standard on my linux operating system which is great since I do some word processing. I haven't found it to be slow on my computer but it might not work perfectly on Windows. Have you tried using wordpad?
