I would have to say Boston Terriers since that's what I have. I think every breed and mixed-breed has its positives and negatives, like people. My sister has a Jack Russel and she adores her, her name is Prissy. She has a skin condition that requires injections and all kinds of medications. Out of my five Bostons, one is allergic to fleas in the worst way, and one has cherry eye, where the third eyelid prolapses. She'll be having surgery in the near future. Amazingly, my first Boston, Bella, actually paper-trained herself. I have a small Chihuahua who was paper trained when I got her, she is real clingy with me so she wont go out on her own, no bigger than she is it's just easier to leave paper puppy pads down. Well low and behold, as Bella got older, she started going to the pads on her own, then outside. It was pretty cool. I had trouble with my Bostons doing their business on the carpet on occasion, I think it's the odors in the carpet of something. Since I have gotten rid of the carpet, everyone does their business outside (thank-goodness). Also, I will never have carpet in my house again. Living in the south where it is humid most of the time, it causes the dogs to smell after they have been outside, they come in, lay around on the carpet...long story short, my house would actually smell like a kennel. Nowadays, there is no odor at all, none and I love it.

When I was a teenager I used to take for walks five jack russell terriers. They were fun to spend time with and very active. I know what a beagle looks like but I an not familiar with the other two breeds you mention. I have two miniature poodles. They usually come in solid colors like white, black, gray, apricot or brown. I have a parti colored one. He is white with black patches. I also have a more ordinary looking black one. Their fur doesn't moult so they need regular grooming. They have pet cuts nothing fancy like show dogs. There are four sizes of poodles: standard, miniature, toy and teacup.

I know a little about Jack Russels as I was bought up around one, it didnt live with me but it was my mums best friends dog.. They can be truly loveable dogs and this one was trained to pick me up from school!! They are very obiedent although some of them do turn vicious! They are truly lovely they can be so sweety but they need to be trained from puppy age to not bite people as that is where they get there vicious side from!!

Since I got my dog, I felt in love with Labradors. They're both beautiful and smart. Labradors are said to be one of the most gentle breeds which is important when you have small children in home (I have 7 year old brother). They're also playful (maybe even a little too playful) and faithful, like every dog. I've read that Labradors don't like to be alone, especially female ones. Och, and they like to sleep,a lot (my dog sleeps like... 6 hours during the day, sometimes even more).

Out of the 4 breeds you listed I like jack russell terriers the best because they are fun and energetic. My favorite breed of all is doberman pinscher. About 1 1/2 years ago we got a doberman and I have never had a better pet. He is so affectionate and loving. He also would not even consider going to the bathroom in the house, even when he was a tiny puppy. That really endeared me to him because I have had many dogs (especially poodles, pomeranians, and yorkies) who refused to be housebroken.
