Does anyone know how long it takes for a rose bush to start blooming? Thanks!

How long have you had the rose bush? Did you recently plant it? When you buy them from the store they are usually shipped there so that they will bloom in the current year. They have to be fed rose food about once a month during the growing season. The ones I have always had seem to begin to bloom in late May and early June continuing on until fall. It also depends on if it is a "tea rose" or a "florabunda". The tea rose has the long stem, sing rose and the florabunda has many short stemed blooms It also depends on your soil and what part of the country you live in as to how they grow.

I live in New Mexico and yes I brought it from the store and I planted it about a month ago. I have fed it the rose food. I thought maybe you plant it this year and it blooms next. I really thought I would have seen something by now. Well hopefully by the time June is over I will see something. Thank you so much for your help.

Your welcome. Also remember they need a lot of water. They also need good air circulation around them to avoid the black spot on the leaves they sometimes get. Good luck. I used to have several roses. One of these days I hope to have some again. Good luck.
