How do You Flush the Toilet? When using a public restroom

I just went to the mall early this morning and i really have a very have a bad experience when the one lady accidentaly open the door of one comfort room which being used with other lady. I saw the lady flushing the toilet with her bare hands, and I am just thinking how do other's flush the public toilet. For me I really avoid it at all cost by my bare hands, i used my foot to flush the throne.

I flush them with my feet always. One time my son was in the bathroom with me and he flushed it with his hand and I was so grossed out and rushed him to wash his hands. When I was in a public bathroom along the beach in Ocean City Maryland the woman who work there to clean the bathrooms watch peoples feet under the doors and yell at them if they flush the toilets with their feet. I think its ridiculous.
