Rice is the staple in the Philippines.My grandparents believed that we can't last long without it. All our main courses are best served either with fried rice or boiled rice like karekare, lechon, tinola, menudo, mechado, pata tin, etc.We are agricultural country and our farmers are best in Asia.That is why we have many good agriculture courses like the one in U.P Los Banos.
